Question Do you think that instructors bother to visit VF anymore?

There was a time when I'm pretty sure many instructors visited VF to see how their workouts were reviewed. Folks would censor their comments so as to not hurt anyone's feelings. (Well, not me, being a fun-sucking shrew and all, but some did).

I had one instructor email me personally to thank me about a good review I had posted in a thread.

I have to wonder if VF is even relevant to anyone but VFers anymore.

That's a good question, Atla.

I think it depends on the instructor, and even if it's not the instructor themselves I'm sure they have fans looking for what people have posted about their workouts. Background exercisers who may have been in a workout, for example might report back to the instructor.

Jessica Smith's new Lift and Shift program comes to my mind immediately. Even though most of my reviews have been positive, I do have some negatives that I tried to post the other day.....and VF timed me out, so I couldn't comment in the "Refund Lift and Shift" thread.

It's only fair to post negative as well as positive thoughts, opinions and reviews.

My guess is they don’t visit here much anymore. I remember hurting an instructor’s feelings once when I was looking forward to a workout and posted my frustration that shipping was slow. I was surprised because it was more of a comment about shipping and not really anything about the instructor or the workout itself.

That’s so funny, I’ve been having a grand time reading through years of old threads and just came across one where an instructor, who I don’t think was ever named, contacted a VFer because she was hurt by the VFer’s post. Yikes. Although I remember even needing to remind myself sometimes that VF was a site for consumers, not just a place to chat with other vidiots.

I remember when an instructor, can’t remember who, was criticized for naming a workout bikini something, or maybe it had thin in the title. Shortly afterwards, Jessica Smith made a fb post about why instructors use buzz words to name workouts, basically to get people to try them. Although, I would guess she no longer reads here, since fb has taken over so much.

I bet it was Ellen's "Skinny Sculpt". I remember discussion with that dvd, title, and talk.

I doubt instructors visit VF anymore. It's a younger crowd and they tend to be mostly on Instagram. They probably don't even know about VF.

I thought it was Ellen, but wasn’t sure.
