I’m reading an excellent indigenous historical fiction, Daughters of the Deer. I highly recommend it!
Here’s a quote from the synopsis: “In this haunting and groundbreaking historical novel, Danielle Daniel imagines the lives of women in the Algonquin territories of the 1600s, a story inspired by her family’s ancestral link to a young girl who was murdered by French settlers.”

Thanks for the additional comments about Gillian Flynn! I doubt I'll go out of my way to read anything else by her.
The next book I chose from my to-read pile is Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.

Thanks Erica! I'll let you know - I haven't started it yet.

I loved Eleanor Oliphant! I listened to the Audible version and the narrator was perfect for the role.
I finally finished listening to the end of Where the Crawdads Sing. I started it a long time ago, lol. I enjoyed it and the ending was what I thought it would be. I’m halfway through reading Pachinko and I think the book is much better than the series (which left out so many details of the young woman and concentrated more on her late life).

On the Kindle, I'm reading:
The Last Green Valley by Mark Sullivan - This is a slow read for me, but that's not a bad thing necessarily. I usually inhale books and I don't continue reading books I don't like. I am enjoying this story and like the characters and I'm not sure what will happen next. It's a well-written historical novel set during WWII, but it's not the same old plot. The Beautiful Little Things by Melissa Hill - I agree with Sherry that it's good she returned to Ireland in this book. I like stories she writes that are set there. And I'm REALLY enjoying this book. It sucked me in immediately. Elijah by Chuck Swindoll, part of the Great Lives of the Bible series. I pretty much like all of Swindoll's books, so it's not a surprise I like this one. It's part of Prime Reading, so I got it to read for free.
