I hate to say it, but I think a lot of our favorite instructors may be slowing down and/or retiring. But as someone who has recently been having trouble streaming things on my ancient Roku in my workout room, I'm starting to resent streaming-only instructors and platforms. They're not accessible for everyone at all times, and sometimes I want the reliability of a piece of physical media. OTOH, streaming is where things are going, that and dedicated subscription-based apps. Our collections aren't going to go anywhere unless we get rid of them or the equipment breaks down, though, so grab what you can now!

I’m with Buffmama in loving the hype - even for an instructor or method I’ll never use. I love reading about people being charged up over fitness.
And yes, I do miss new DVDs. So as crazy as it sounds I’m turning back time. Long before I complete my current rotation I decide upon my next rotation. I shop my dvd collection for the DVDs I want to use and then search VF for reviews and posts that came out around the time of release. By the time my present rotation ends I’m totally psyched to start the next one!

Kathy, Tamilee, etc. are in their 50s and 60s now, aren't they? So it makes sense they are ready to retire and have some me time or explore other things. The younger generation of fitness people seems to be more interested in being social media influencers than leading workouts. Why get all sore and sweaty when you can just pose on the beach and sell paper workout challenges.
