Agreed! The only video where I paused and thought WTH was with Ana Brett. Everything else I was fine with. When I used to go to Jazzercise, twenty years ago, lots of the women that attended wore some of those same outfits with the spandex tights and leotards. I remember wanting to get myself a pair ---- turquoise blue and shiny! But, they were too expensive. By the time I could afford them, they were out of style --- way out.

It would be interesting to know if Janis sold more copies of Brand New Butt & More to women (her target audience) after she changed the cover.

I think instructors wear less clothing today so they can show off their abs.

I'm okay with most of Ana Brett's outfits....now. The ones she wears in Cleanse and Total Tune Up are just inexcusable, IMO. (You can see her nipples through her top, and her top and bottom look like underwear!)

Preening doesn't thrill me.

In real life I'd find a narcissism to an instructor strutting her body. When she's teaching she's there for ME, not to gather my awe or admiration.

You're not the first person to say that!

I have only seen her in Yoga Bliss Hips and I thought she looked cold. I wanted to turn the heater on!

Yep, they were invented. I used them.

And utilitarian *supportive* bras were invented loooong before that-- my Auntie was issued them when she was in the service in WW2. They certainly weren't pretty (or sexy) but they had been invented.

They were invented by the ancient greeks, and had to be reinvented by modern society. But I know I'm going off on a tanget, sorry!

Ana's outfits are very skimpy, particularly by kundalini yoga standards, where everyone tends to be wearing layers of white gauze and often something covering the head as well. Some of the poses she gets into, like kundalini lotus pose, well--I'd be dead embarrassed if I were wearing those outfits. She looks cute in them, though, and I wouldn't say she's being sexy.

Oh yeah, you all reminded me. I'm *very* uncomfortable with the Ravi Ana's. I have tried their videos several times based on the praises at VF, but I can't get past the underwear. I suppose some find it "pure" or something and good for those people for not having my hang ups, but it's too much for me.
