I have Act of Oblivion on my to read list. I really liked The Second Sleep by Robert Harris. They were supposed to make a series adaptation, but I haven't heard anything about it recently.

Dena, I feel exactly the same, although as I study yoga philosophy and Buddhism, I try to practice non-attachment and acceptance of change.

Drew Hayes is quickly becoming one of my favorite “fun-reads” authors. I was introduced to his books through one of these VF threads (it was his series Superpowereds). Those were a little slow getting into, but I ended up really liking them.

Now that I’ve renewed my kindle unlimited, I’ve found several more free books and series from him. I just finished two stand-alone books: Pears and Perils and Second Hand Curses. Enjoyed them both but especially the latter.

I didn't realize Kate Atkinson had a new book coming out. I'll have to look into that. I loved her Jackson Brodie series. I don't know if this is part of that series. ETA - I just looked it up. It's not part of the series but it looks good. I love her writing.

As a Buddhist and someone who follows a yogic lifestyle, I strive to do the same. However...just because I try to accept change doesn't mean I necessarily like or enjoy it.

Oh, I'm looking forward to Fairy Tale!

Some reads I intend to tackle this fall include:

A Long Petal of the Sea by Isabel Alende - my book club's read for September.

The Shipping News by Annie Proulx - recommended by book club friend.

The Ardent Swarm by Yamen Manai - the last of my freebies from the 2022 Amazon Publishing World Book Day giveaway.

Two rock and roll autobiographies - Not Dead and Not for Sale by Scott Weiland and Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy by Ozzy Osbourne. The latter focuses on the genetic mapping and medical studies conducted to determine how Ozzy survived his escapades.

Others on ever-growing to-read list include Where the Crawdads Sing if it ever becomes available at the library; The Dead Duke, His Secret Wife and the Missing Corpse by Piu Marie Eatwell; and LaRose by Louise Erdrich.

Sarah Addison Allen had Other Birds come out at the very end of the month in August, and I've got a hold at the other library system since they say they're processing now.

Other than that, I'm reading Mindfulness by Joseph Goldstein.

Continuing to listen to Anthony Trollope's Palliser series, now The Duke's Children read by Simon Vance. Perfect bedtime reading.
