Hi Malinda. Your trip to Colorado sounds fantastic! I bet your MIL is smiling along with all of you in spirit. I've only been to Colorado once - the Ouray and Telluride area. We rode our motorcycle there from Montana before kids. It is so gorgeous there.

I have done P90X as written once and I still do some of the workouts on occasion. It is an excellent program and I saw visible results. I did it after my daughter was born and it got me back into pre-baby shape. Tony is kind of a dork, but I appreciate his sense of humor.

I really like all of the upper body weight days and Ab Ripper X. The leg day is kind of easy for me - I prefer Cathe's leg workouts. The yoga day is good, but very long at 90 minutes. I don't really care for the Kenpo workout - I would sub in another kickbox workout for that day. The Plyometrics workout is ok, but you could easily do Breathless Body, which is more advanced, instead.

Today I did some Cathe Lives - #321 Metabolic Circuit and #339 Shock Body Bootcamp. Cathe is solo in both and they were decent high-intermediate level workouts. I probably won't repeat them much in the future, but I had a good workout day. I was expecting Shock Body Bootcamp to be much harder than it was b/c of the name, LOL.

Fri: Cathe's Greatest Hits Vol 1 Step + core work from Muscle Max
Sat: CL #282 Cardio Core Challenge + #286 Fit Tower Bootcamp 2 + 2 walks
Sun: CL #8 High Intensity Cardio Step + #14 Stability Ball Total Body Weights + 35 min walk
Today: Studio Sweat SpinCore (70 min) + Travis Short & Sweet #2 + 1 walk so far

I really liked all of these Cathe Lives! I did #8 on an 8 inch step and it was intense, indeed. Some of her older Lives feel much more advanced than recents to me.

In other news, there is an animal carcass in the forest near our driveway and I've been on high alert while walking. Lots of turkey vultures - they sure are crazy-looking! I definitely don't want to run into a mountain lion. I've got the dog on a leash.

Tues: BodyCombat 72/73 Combo (98 min) + 35 minute walk
Wed: CL #26 Step Express with Blasts + #28 High Reps Total Body + 35 min walk
Today: CL #34 Ripped with HIIT Scrambler w/Step + #23 Cardio Boxing with Stability Ball Abs + 35 min walk

The Cathe Lives were all decent and I would do them again except for #23 Cardio Boxing. It has Amanda in it and she is great, but there are a ton of jumping jacks and rope skipping moves and hardly any kicking. The stability ball abs are tough and intense and I would definitely revisit that section. Otherwise, I would much rather do a BodyCombat.

I was feeling a little wiped out today during my workout. I have been exposed to Covid at work again and I hope I don't get it. There are 3 staff members out with it right now and I was asked to sub for one of them, plus I was in her classroom quite a bit before she tested positive. Fingers crossed! I think I am just tired from getting less sleep. I have been waiting to get my 2nd booster and I believe the new vaccine is now available.

My son tested positive for Covid this morning. I am feeling a little run-down and my throat is scratchy, but I am testing negative. I am guessing that I have it too and will test positive this weekend. I will take things down a notch and just do walking and yoga until I know for sure. When we all had it in January my son was the sickest and I had a mild case. The school said I can still come in to work if I wear a mask, but I said I will take today off and come in on Monday if I am still negative. There is no need to expose the entire school during my lunch duty if I do have it.

Good news! I tested negative this morning and so far my son seems to be the only one infected in our family. Luckily our school still has a lot of tests left over from last year so I plan to test there a couple of times this week and wear a mask. My son has to stay home through Wednesday. He is feeling much better already. A bunch of his friends are sick as well but only some of them have been tested. There are a lot of families around here who refuse to allow their kids to be tested. I am sure we will have a huge surge of infections at school for a couple of weeks and then cases should subside.

I do still have some cold symptoms but that could be from allergies and/or the high levels of smoke outside. I may also have a very mild infection that isn't strong enough to show up on the rapid tests.

All I did for exercise the past 2 days was walk the dog about 4 miles each day. I plan to do something intermediate today as well as walk. I am gonna watch the Vikings play this afternoon, but they did not look great in pre-season and they have to go up against the Packers.

Wow! The Vikings played great yesterday! I am still testing negative so I think I am in the clear, except for at school where Covid is all over the upper grades right now. I wore my mask today - I think I was the only one in the entire school doing so.

The smoke was at unhealthy levels all day but is starting to clear so I will take the dog for her walk and then watch Monday Night Football.

Sunday: CL #160 Fit Tower Live + #260 Cardio Core Plateau Buster + Walk
Today: CL #151 Athletic Conditioning + #306 Cardio Core Bootcamp + Travis Short & Sweet #3 + Walk

The only one of these that I added to my faves was Fit Tower Live. It was filmed at the 2017 Glassboro road trip and the energy was great in the room.

The other workouts all felt pretty intermediate to me despite the intense-sounding titles.

I'm so excited and proud of myself today as I just achieved my summer goal of doing the X77 premix of Cathe's X10 with no breaks or modifications! The Cathe Live workouts really helped me up my game. I burned 738 calories and my average heart rate was 164. The hardest section for me was on the step so it was nice to get that out of the way first. After X77 I did Travis' Short & Sweet #1. I still plan to take the dog for her walk but the smoke is bad. Hopefully we will get some rain soon to clear the air.

Hope everyone is enjoying the cooler fall weather!

Jules, you are a machine!!!! That's so great that you have been able to up your game!

And I'm so glad you are testing negative, and that your son is feeling better. And good for you for wearing your mask.

Our Colorado trip really took a lot out of me. We were pretty busy, going and doing a lot, with some family drama (DH's family) thrown in for good measure. The traffic heading back to Denver on I70 on Labor Day was horrid. We gave ourselves way more time than we needed to get back to the airport, and we still barely made it in time. A very stressful end to the vacation, although our flight took off on time and actually landed 1/2 early -- and the gate was free so we didn't have to sit on the tarmac waiting for it. So that was great.

My workouts have been pretty crummy since we got back. I find it very hard to pick back up on a rotation after being gone a week, so I've given up LIIFT4 for awhile. I've just been picking random workouts and feeling out of sorts about it. I've also been insanely busy with work, so I'm just not on my game right now. I did Turbo Jam Punch Kick & Jam today, though, and had so much fun with it. I forgot how much I love that workout. It's fun steady state cardio, which is what I feel like I need right now.

Thanks for your input on P90X. I really want to try it, but I need to wait until we aren't going out of town.

Next week we are in Miami for just a short trip; we are going to see Green Day at the Hardrock Casino in Hollywood. I can't wait!!!!!

I'm glad you're having cooler weather; ours is so much better. Highs in the low-mid 90s and lows on a couple of nights in the high 60s. Ordinarily, that would sound hot, but after 66+ days of 100+ and lows in the high 80s, it feels heavenly!

Take care!

Hi Malinda - I am glad you made it home safe and sound from Colorado. Air travel is so frustrating these days. It seems like almost every flight is overbooked and/or delayed/cancelled, so it is good you didn't have to deal with that. I was doing a spin class from Studio Sweat yesterday and I thought of you b/c it had a Green Day song in the playlist. It was 148 bpm, but the instructor had us go half speed, LOL.

Yesterday: Studio Sweat spin with Brian (1 hr) + 35 min walk
Today: CL #92 Boot Camp Blastoff + #377 Total Body Circuit + walk

The Cathe Lives were ok. I guess I have done Boot Camp Blastoff before, but I forgot. There were some tech issues with the music in this one so I didn't put it in faves b/c it happened more than once. It is too bad b/c the music had good tunes from Kick, Punch & Crunch.

Total Body Circuit started out promising, but was pretty easy for me in the end. My average heart rate was only 117 and I like to work harder than that. I did enjoy some of the new-to-me moves Cathe did with dumbbells and the green loop together, and she hinted one of the moves will be in an upcoming workout.

Attn Kate! Have you tried BodyCombat 91 yet? I did it today and I thought it was excellent. They play around with a green screen. The backgrounds are colorful and busy, which go along well with the upbeat moves and music. It is a shorter one at 52 minutes. There is no live class, but I didn't mind.
