Hi Susan,
How do you find SBF compares to Phys 57? I love Physique 57. I usually do one day of cardio, usually body combat. I have also incorporated Tonique into my fitness routine. For August, I'm going to try three days of barre, three days of Tonique and one day of some type of cardio. You sweat buckets with Tonique, so you could skip cardio altogether.

SBF is a lot more mind-body than P57. P57 is sort of barre-meets-traditional workout. SBF is VERY isometric. I have seen greater changes in my body with it, and increased mental toughness, and better flexibility, and improvement of old injury/pain areas in my body. I would say in a word that SBF is more CONTROLLED and that has translated into better results for me. That said, I do like P57! Tanya's enthusiasm is wonderful. Suzanne is a quieter, gentler supportive presence. Suzanne's emphasis is a lot more on strength, health, self-acceptance, and excellence over perfection; Tanya tends to be more "bikini body" oriented.

I do cardio and barre. I have been doing barre for about 6 weeks now. I don't need to lose weight, I just can't give up my cardio. I usually do a barre3 60 min workout once or twice a week. The rest of the week I will do a 30 to 40 min barre workout from the barre3, or Suzanne Bowen website, and add on 30 min of treadmill walking, or 30 min on my elliptical. I guess I am just a cardio hound. I just can't give it up!

thx

I just added some Jessica Smith Cardio to my barre workouts for now. I like her barefoot cardio stuff. I just subscribed to the Barre3 online workouts - very exciting!

I do Ballet Body and I also do cardio (I choose between bike, elliptical and occasionally running) for 35 min 6x a week. The combination works well for me.

That's what I do. Barre3, SBF, and Jessica Smith. My happy place for sure.

Another Suzanne Bowen barre fan here - I do Suzanne's cardio and then will add on some moderate walking and occasionally some time on my recumbent bike.

I need to lose some vanity pounds, but for me that's a food issue.

Absolutely! It didn't used to be that way for me, but at almost 58 I just can't out-exercise my bad eating habits.
