RANT: Leslie Sansone...

Dear Leslie,

You are one of my favorite instructors. I have used your videos for years. I need to ask you a favor. Would you please start giving your videos numbers or colors or SOMETHING so that I can tell them apart? The titles are all almost the same. The covers are all mostly the same. You, reaching out from the box with a crazed look in your eyes.

I wanted to do one of your old workouts and I couldn't recall the name. It's the one with the William Tell music and the weighted gloves. I looked at my Leslie shelf and realized I had NO IDEA which video it was.

I'm really lost with your newer workouts. Sometimes the equipment used might give me a hint, but I am usually clueless. Which is the one where you are talking to James Brown? Oh, and isn't there ONE where you mention that somebody is a grandma. (While we watch said grandma wincing in the background.)

Dearest Leslie, I don't think I will be buying your new workouts for a while. I can't remember the ones I have!

Sincerely,
Alta-Tude

This is certainly true, LOL. And Leslie is *so cheap* I'm pretty sure they were all from just one photo shoot a few years back. A few dozen shots of her reaching out like that, and then they just photoshop different-colored tank tops or tracksuit jackets for all new releases and re-releases.

LOL, Alta!

I think it's Mary Kay that Leslie mentions that she is a new grandma. James Brown is in one of her 5 milers, I think.

I think James Brown was in the Walk Slim series-possibly the four mile walk?

I think she used the William Tell Overture in Walk Away Your Stress, but I do not remember weighted gloves in that workout.

I think the grandma mention was for the walker "Jo" in the original WATP or WATP for abs?

I could be wrong about all of the above

I agree-they all end up looking alike. She really should just number them or something.

James Brown was in the Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles. I only know because I recently traded this to cherimac and she reminded me of it!

I remember the William Tell Overture, but I've never had Walk Away Your Stress, so I don't think it's that one.

Jo was definitely the grandma, but I can't remember the workout. Like you said, all the names are the same, so who knows?!

These comments are pretty funny - they're all in disagreement

She mentions "grandma" a few times. I don't know what the deal with that is - there are plenty of 40-something grandparents out there, and my parents didn't become grandparents until their 70's.

I can't remember individual workouts too well, but the "Express" workouts have the brick walls with the total workout length projected on the walls (love that, otherwise I wouldn't know which one I was doing ) In WATP for Abs the background walkers are in grey sweatpants and they have microphones (yuk). I guess I can sort of keep track of them because I have a relatively small collection (6 or 7 dvd's, most with multiple workouts) and I only keep the ones I really like.

I would love to hear the Wm Tell Overture in the background! Someone figure out which one it is!

The William Tell music and the weighted gloves are used in her 3-Mile Power Walk. I think it was released in 2000. This is one of my favorite Leslie's. I don't have that many of her workouts so I don't have too much trouble keeping them straight, but one can only have so many of her workouts. They are all pretty much the same.

The weighted glove/William Tell one is me and my sister's fave. She just bought one off ebay! It is The Power Walking System-it had a bonus lower body workout on it too. I love that one! I need to get a copy of that one-it is hard to find now!

This is the one I think you are talking about.

ETA: I have had 2 copies of this dvd and both had poor sound quality with pops and crackles, so I don't know if it was just a bad batch or what.

She makes a point of mentioning (twice) that Lynn is a grandmother in WATP Abs 1 mile walk.
