I like the idea that I could use the workouts individually, as a mini set, as well as altogether.

In STS she goes really heavy in Meso 3. I don't own dumbells that are that heavy. I imagine this one will have heavy weights too at some point. I do like the feel of getting stronger and putting on muscle, but there's a limit for a home exerciser.
It may be that there will be options to buy only a portion of the set. To answer the original question, if you feel that lifting weights is beneficial for you, it might be a good investment. You'll have to weigh the pros and cons. I never invested in the original STS and have no regrets, but I'll probably cave this time.
