Thumbs up Weighted/loaded carries...

A fitness goal I have for 2022 is to add more weighted carries to my rotations. Exercises like farmer walks, suitcase walks, waiter walks, etc. I do them in Andrea DuCane's Kettlebell Boomer.

Many of the functional fitness gurus (Dan John, Dr. Stuart McGill, Gray Cook) recommend them highly.

You don't have to use a kettlebell. You can use anything! I have a cat that weighs 15 pounds. I carry him around.

Glad it helped! I wound up keeping Kettlebell Goddess, not Kettlebell Boomer, but now that I'm 53, maybe this should have been the other way around.

Thanks for posting -- this is very interesting and something I might try in the future.

For some reason, the second link doesn't work for me (maybe cookies?), so I googled your title, and found the article here (via yahoo):

Looks intriguing. I see they have a very reasonable streaming offer, but the way the content is, it seems like a dvd would be preferable. In the meantime, I'll continue carrying dog food and chicken feed around. Hmmm, why is it dog "food" but chicken "feed"?

Great articles, thanks for the links. I can’t do crunches or sit-ups, it always tweaks my lower back. This video recommended loaded carries for ab work. Never thought of that before, but now I sub floor ab moves with my 15 pound kettlebell.
