I did a search and found this article about using weights with pilates:

It quotes Michele Olson, who I think is well regarded, about how roll ups use more muscle than traditional crunches. Great news to me!

Thanks Lucky Star! I have had my eye on that one, but just wasn't sure. I'll check out the clips again. Nice to know someone likes it.
