Question Glute-building exercises that are knee-friendly?

The knees are cranky lately, so no squats or lunges. No kettlebells either.

I lurve deadlifts and know they are good for the posterior chain. Plus; they don't bother my knees.

Any other suggestions?

Banded walking.

With an exercise band around your upper calves, walk around the room while maintaining a wide stance. Walk forwards...backwards...and to the right and the left.

That one really fires up my glutes.

Thanks, all!

Weighted glute bridges! Duh, I should have thought of that!

I do the firewalkers side-to-side I never thought of going in different directions.

Yesterday, I did Cathe's Push Pull. I subbed weighted glute lifts for the squats. And wall-sits for the lunges. Worked for me!

One of my favorites is stability ball hamstring curls. Once you progress to 1-legged curls, you can try to keep your arms off the ground for added difficulty.

If you haven't tried 1-legged deadlifts, I recommend those as well.
BJ Gaddour is always posting exercises on Facebook, and a recent one was rear-foot elevated hip hinges, which looks like a good way to start working towards 1-legged deadlifts.
