Hmmm, got me to thinking.

Used all the time:
--**my Sport Court flooring in the bedroom that's my exercise space** (by far the most expensive single item I have but worth it!

--Reebok step--6 years old and going strong

--cheapo small step I put on top of the Reebok to make a tall box

--5, 8, 10, 12, and 15 lb dumbbells

--15 lb. (unloaded) barbell

--mini-trampoline

--balance ball

--2 mats

--2 lb ankle weight to sub for OOOF ball

Not used as often:

--resistance tubing--only for a couple of tapes

--my 100+ lbs of barbell plates, since I don't lift heavy any more

--slide. Great idea, but limited execution

--dumbbell handles/clips for plates

Not strictly fitness but used often:

--kayak--we paddle at least once a week

--scuba gear, mask and fins. Ditto on diving/snorkeling.

Guess I'm not much of a gear collector--but I do have over 150 videos!

Limited by space...

I don't have nearly as much as I would if I had more room LOL!

3, 5 and 8 lb. dumbbells - used twice a week at least
Firm stretching towel - love it for the Vol. 2 stretch!
A bigger towel for doing floorwork, etc.
New Balance 608 shoes
About 20 tapes

Firm 8 and 14 inch steps that I can't use because they both wobble (they both arrived this way and I can't seem to tighten them - anyone else have this problem?) One is packed away and the other makes a handy footstool...

I have a pair of adjustable ankle weights that I haven't used yet because I can barely get through Vol. 1 and 2 without them

Now if I had room, I'd have a treadmill, rebounder, rowing machine...

Essential toys:

* Step Co. step
* tall box - 13" Rubbermaid step/toolbox
* dumbbells: 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15 lb pairs
* pair of adjustable ankle weights: up to 5lb each
* yoga mat
* padded exercise mat (for Pilates, abs, and floor work)

Not absolutely essential, but nice:

* yoga strap
* yoga foam blocks (2)
* dowel
* green genie balls

Wish list:

* green Spri tubing (I bought red tubing, but my shoulders aren't strong enough to use it )
* balance ball (I just ordered Karen's DVD, so now I have an excuse )
* yoga toys - eye bag and neti pot

There are some other toys I'd like to have, but I'll be graduating and moving soon, so I'm trying to keep equipment to a minimum for now. I finally got a DVD player, though . Now I just have to figure out how to hook the darned thing up...

I don't know if a neti pot counts as a "toy"--unless you're the sort that likes squirting milk out of her nose!

(I have one but have not yet worked up the nerve to use it!)

Ladies, you make me feel good!

Reading everyone's lists is very interesting & it also reminds me of all the fitness necessities I own.
Here goes:

Barbells-2 with plenty of weight plates
Dumbbells-3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 30
Bodybar-18#
Home Depot foam flooring
Weight bench (hubby uses it & I'm not counting son's Olympic bench being stored)
Full size punching bag with gloves (a gift from youngest daughter for our birthday)
Weight lifting gloves
Firm towel
Push up handle bars
yoga mat plus block & strap
Big balance ball
Walmart rebounder
ankle weights-5# & 10# pairs
Proform 725 treadmill
Step Co step
small step
14" & 10" Firm boxes
Oops, I almost forgot my newest-Pedometer. I actually jumped on the treadmill tonight so I would go over 10,000 steps for the day, 11,503 to be exact.

I also must give credit to my two "hairy boys" that get so excited when I put on my shoes because they know I will take them for a walk. Thanks guys!

I find myself wandering the fitness & video aisles in all stores, just looking of course.

Wish list:
Treadmoves videos
Inspiration to use these "tools" on a consistent regular basis.

My List

Wow, this is gonna be longer than I would have thought

Toys I use (although not necessarily on a regular basis):
thick yoga mat
regular yoga mat
yoga strap
yoga block
3-20 lb dumbbells
dumbbell rack
plate mates to crank my spare 15# dumbbells up to 17.5#
PowerFlex weight set
white weight gloves
ironwear ankle weights
Rubbermaid tall step
Step Co Step
Tunturi E430 exercise bike (the BEST!)
crystal edge ball (mosly used as a chair at my sewing table)

Toys I have but don't use for various reasons:
travel yoga mat (I forget to pack it!)
special yoga mat bag (rarely used, but it was on sale!)
black weight gloves (turn my hands black)
d-ring strap ankle weights (take too long to put on)
heart rate monitor (exercise bike has one built in)
blue nerf soccer ball/Oof substitute (I'm just not that fond of the Firm Oof ball segments)
Reebok Step (My knees need the 4" height of the Step Co step)
Heavy Hands (I'm not even sure how I came to own these! Wait--I *do* use them--to keep my barbell from rolling away!)
ballet slippers (for that one ballet class)

Toys I wore out and no longer have:
Tunturi Executive Ergomenter exercise bike
infomercial stepper (can't remember what brand)

Toys I traded/threw away:
Step Co slide
Kathy Ireland step
exercise tube that came with infomercial stepper

No toys on the want list! (Thank goodness!)

LOL!

I haven't worked up the nerve to buy one yet, but I think it would help my breathing (I have nasal allergy problems). I certainly wouldn't want anyone to see me using this thing .

Hmmm...I haven't snorted liquid out of my nose (on purpose) since I was a kid - maybe this will be fun .

For anyone who is wondering: a neti pot is a small container with a "snout" like a teapot. It is used to rinse out the nasal passages before yoga practice to improve breathing.

I love this thread! I don't have as much as many VFers, but enough to get the job done. I think I'll let my friends read it next time they say I have way too much exercise equipment. Is there such a thing as "too much"?:rolleyes:

Stuff I always use:
Dumbbells: 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15 (20 and 25s are on my Christmas list)
About 80 videos
Body Pump barbell
Regular York barbell
90 pounds of weight plates
weight gloves
2 steps plus 12 risers (I keep saying I'm going to make a mini step but have gotten around to it just yet

Stuff I should use more to get more variety in my workouts:
Exercise ball
Mini trampoline
Jump rope

Me too

Since I managed to read every post so far, I'll go ahead and add my list. Talk about avoidance activities! Work can wait.

Use often:
Combo tv/vcr for workout room (regular tv/vcr/dvd in living room)
Dumbbells--1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20 (a single for lat rows)
Step Co. Step (downstairs, for living room aerobics)
Kathy Ireland Step (upstairs, for stacking with stepstool for tall box)
9-in Step stool (for FIRM box aerobics and stacking for tall box)
Curl bar with plates to about 45 #
lifting gloves
sticky mat
large ball (as a chair, at my office)

Use occasionally:
ankle weights 2.5 each
HR monitor
dynabands
small step with risers
another large ball (at home, for abs, etc.)

Never use:
exertube with weighted handles

Wish list:
Wish I had room for (and budget for) a high quality treadmill
kind of interested in that Ivanko barbell

Happy workouts everyone!
