Rhonda, doing a sadhana was one of the ways I first committed to doing yoga more regularly back in the mid-2000s! I see it all about intent - i.e., even if you don't get to a physical practice, spend a few minutes focused on breath or reading something about yoga that interests you.

Rhonda, I signed up for Adriene's January challenge. I have only done here practices here and there individually so it will be nice to see her face every day.

I got kind of burnt out doing yoga challenges; I think one year I signed up for 3-4, including Adriene, Kassandra, SarahBeth, and Yoga with Tim.

BUT, they can be helpful for keeping things structured! I found a few for 2023 (all free).

David O Yoga, 30 Day Morning Yoga Challenge (just 15 min/day):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u15...nel=DavidOYoga

Boho Beautiful, 31 Days of Yoga (says "as little as 15 min/day"):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhrX...oBeautifulYoga

Xude Yoga (from 2022), 7 Days of Yoga (looks like about 20 min each):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1Gb...annel=XudeYoga

Coach Vigue 5-Day Beginner Yoga Challenge:
https://www.seanviguefitness.com/5day/

Yoga with Tim, 30 Day Challenge (from 2022):
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...g0aVxuivJryPrJ

There probably will be others that haven't been released yet.

Good morning and thank you for starting our sadhana, Pam! I am going to officially start counting on January 1, but I'll be doing yoga and checking in daily for the rest of December too.

Thank you for the yoga challenges, Beth.

In addition to deepening my meditation practice (some days I really struggle to focus), I want to set an intention before my practice every morning. Does anyone currently do that? If so, what are some examples of intentions you set and how do you decide what the intention will be on any given day?
Dena, I am a huge fan of intentions now - Kassandra Reinhardt (Yoga with Kassanadra) got me hooked. Here are some of her brief affirmation meditations to give you an idea of how to frame a good intention. The main rule of thumb is it must be positive and stated in the present. Example: you want to lose five pounds. Rather than "I will make myself avoid sweets today" try "I nourish my body with healthy food."

Thanks for posting these, Beth!

So last January I started eight, yes EIGHT, different challenges (only a few were yoga). Seriously?? And I was still working on two others that I had started months earlier. And I have not yet finished any of them. I still want to but yeah.

Hahaha!! I would agree! None were long workouts but when you have that many it adds up! And I've been trying to figure out for a while now how to get them all finished. And two are restarting in January. :eyeroll:

This month is a good time to practice letting go, letting things stay in 2022 - including starting fresh with new challenges (or not).

Using this for a class I'm teaching on New Year's Eve:
(from "Anthem" by Leonard Cohen)
The birds they sing, at the break of day
Start again, I heard them say.
Don’t dwell on what has passed away
Or what is yet to be.

Beth, that's a really good point! Although I am not good at letting go of really anything! Thanks for sharing the quote.
