I have really long hair. I put mine up in a high ponytail and then wrap the tail around itself and hold in place with a big hair clip. Great for cardio and high enough for prone exercises.

I do the same as this, except I put the ponytail on top of my head so if I do floor work or stretching after, it doesn't get in the way. (doesn't work well for overhead tricep extension exercise with weights.)

My hair is only mid back length but I just gather it and twist it sideways a few times pull it up on top of my head and clip a plastic clip as high up on it as I can while still catching all my hair in it. Then just pull each side to tighten it and spread my hair out so it’s even on each side. It’s like a pony but it’s higher on my head and not as tight as a pony. I use a clip that’s about two inches long and lined with rubber so it doesn’t slip out. I wear my hair that way 24/7 when I’m at home. I can sleep in it, run in it, lay down with it, do any workout and it stays put. I have Caucasian curly hair. I don’t know that that matters.

You could also try a French braid (or just braid it down off the back of your neck if you don’t without putting in the ponytail holder) if you know how to do that. It is comfortable to lay on because it’s flat and also doesn’t give me a headache after a while like a traditional ponytail can. I used that hair style when I delivered all three of my kids for that reason.

I put my hair in a ponytail then twist it into a bun.
