I started with the small Walmart step and found that modifying videos to fit on it was annoying. I waited and waited to see a full size club step at the local thrift stores and had my sister, the garage sale queen, keep a lookout but we never did see one. Dick's Sporting Goods had them on sale a few weeks back and with a $10.00 coupon the total cost came to $69.99. I couldn't be happier with it and I find stepping much more enjoyable now. I highly recommend a full size step.

I have this one: (don't know how to do the link the way Julie did )
http://www.sportsunlimitedinc.com/stepreebsys.html
but it only offers 6-8-10", can't do the 4".

It has been the most used piece of equipment I have, but then... I'm a stepper! I also agree that it will last decades!

1. Click on the blue octagon-like icon in the VF reply box.
2. You will get a text box which will prompt you to type "what would you like to call your link"
3. I typed "Helen's Step"
4. Then you will be prompted by another text box to insert the entire URL

Helen's step

Happy?

Make sure you don't have http twice as the text box already comes with a 'http'...you will understand when you do it...

Oh, you mean the globe with the chain link at the bottom! Now I get it.

And all this time here I was typing in the [url...] tags myself...

Another vote for the full sized step. I started with the home version but quickly switched to a Step Co. big one -- over 12 years ago (now, that is scary).

I have both. I use my smaller one more often. (It slides under the tv and stores well). I like my full size step ok, but use it more often as a weight bench because with no risers its 4" and with 1 set of risers its 8" and of course I prefer 6" LOL! No pleasing the Pegster, I tell ya...

So, make sure the step you buy can be 4, 6 or 8" to suit your mood and your knees.

I don't know where you're located, but another option is Craigslist. I got my club size step for $25 I think. I just had to be patient (and I hate being patient).

Club Step

I also vote for the club step. I have so many steps, it is ridiculous. I don't use the Firm Fanny Lifter anymore (I had the old wooden ones from the early 90's that are sturdier). I only use the Transfirmer for the Firm incline workouts.

But I use the club step for really everything else. I have two - mine is 9 years old and I also have my sister's - she got it in '89 from the Step Co. back when they were only selling them to gyms and clubs. Even though it is almost 17 years old, it looks as good as new.

If you have a Play it Again Sam's near you, I have seen the club steps there occasionally.

Good luck!

Chris
