Well I love step but can't always do it -- it aggravates my recurrent heel pain/plantar fasciitis. Long story short, the left has always been my weakest foot with several injuries for which I think I overcompensate in ways that strain my heel. Anyway, when I can't do step I don't do nearly enough cardio. Can anyone recommend something to replace it, for the cardio spot in my rotation? I generally just don't like various standard aerobics, circuits, TIFTing -- cardio is dull, basically. And I can always be tempted to do a day of strength instead
So: in step I started with Kathy Smith (always a good place to learn something new) and everytime I add height I go back to her. I did a lot of Gilad Step-n-Tone which I find pretty dull and repetitive for stepping but it goes fast and I like how it moves through the different muscle groups of the upper body rather than just flailing-away-to-get-the-HR-up. But his warmup messes with my feet. And I was just learning Kari Anderson and Reebok Power Step when the heel flared up, and well, back to my rotation of Firm-Abs-Charlene-Kari-stretching. Like, no cardio.
Any advice? on what to do instead of stepping that I'll actually do? or on how to make step work for me again! Thanks!!!
