I found it on my iPhone after reading this article.

My sister told me about it yesterday, and I looked on my phone in google settings and it was there.

Kind of creepy that it took an article to tell us it had been placed. Makes you wonder what else they have hidden or will place in the future. They should require notification!

That said, I searched and it is not on my iphone. My phone is old and I don't do software updates so apparently caveman beats astronaut today

ETA: I'm not against tracing tools at all. I'm against lack of disclosure and general sneakiness.

I found it too. I'm not sure how I feel about it being there, but at least it isn't enabled. Thanks for the info!

It's on mine and I haven't even done a software update recently. I don't want anyone or anything tracking me anywhere! I don't even like the apps for family to be able to see where you are whenever they want. I do use an app so people I choose can know where I am while I'm running but it's only for the duration of the run, just in case I go missing.

Thanks for letting us know. I checked and it's on my phone. Not sure how I feel about that. Part of me is amazed by the technology and the other part of me feels violated. I'm glad it's not enabled, but I wonder if they can enable it without us even knowing?

I think you supposedly have to download an app for local health info and they claim you can turn it off even if you do download the app.

I don't know how I feel about it either, I did do an update last week I wonder if it was added then.

I should really check my settings more often, I feel it does invade my privacy but I could see some advantages I guess.
