Thoughts after doing Cardio 1 & Sculpt 1
I posted the info below last night in the Infomercial thread, but it probably belongs here instead. Here are some other thoughts I had after trying Cardio 1 & Sculpt 1:
* The Zip Trainer seems & feels very well constructed. I didn't have any issues with the zipper or the domes when I did the workouts last night. * Definitely put a mat under it. I have one of the Gaiam yoga mats under mine and it worked really well. * I wasn't a big fan of the music - it seemed kind of techno-y on a continuous loop, especially on Cardio 1. I didn't see an option to turn the music off or to lower the volume. * The pace seems a bit frantic at times, especially when you are zipping or unzipping the Zip Trainer. But I think that's part of the point of the short workouts & getting the most out of them. I'll get used to it. * Sculpt 1: the push-ups where you have your knees on the dome and hands on the floor killed my back. I'll probably just do this movement on the floor going forward - or with my hands on the domes. * I liked being able to select which warm-up, workouts, and cool-down I wanted to do on the menu. * Getting the supreme set was a good idea. I can really see building up to using either the 3 or 7 pound balls inside the Zip Trainer, or as a hand weight. I used 3 last night, which was too light, but there's definitely room to grow. * For some reason, I didn't receive the Firm Energy Formula pills with mine, which is a good thing. * I think if you're an intermediate or advanced exerciser, you'll want to do at least two workouts together. I felt like I got more of a challenge that way. * I do hope that they'll come out with more workouts to do with this. I think I have enough options for now to mix and match the 11 workouts for the next month or so without getting bored. (the 11 number doesn't include Jump Start) * I also think it'd be great if they came out with a workout chart that lists the different exercises you can do on the Zip Trainer (I think one came with the Wave?). I have the Ugi ball and love the book of exercises that came with that - I can add my own music that way. I pretty much have all the Firm DVDs, kits, and systems that have come out since the 1986 Body Sculpting Basics Volume I with Susan Harris. No matter what else I buy, I always seem to come back to the Firm (recent purchases include Tapout XT and XT2 & the new KCM, Michelle Dozois, & Ellen Barrett - can you say 'vidiot'?!). I enjoy the Firm's method, the instructors, and how I feel after I complete one of their workouts. They just click with me ----------Last Night's Post----------------- I just tried out the Zip Trainer for the first time. Did Cardio 1 & Sculpt 1. I really liked the different athletic moves. A few reminded me of Rebekah's Cardio Core Fusion workout with the sculpting balls. I also liked how the bursts were 30 seconds instead of 8 like in Firm Express. Glad I purchased it PS - I didn't really feel this when I was working out, but boy, my glutes & calves are on fire...in a good way

I don't remember seeing an option to order the vitamins either. On the Firm Direct page for the Zip Trainer, they're listed as being included free in both the deluxe & ultimate packages. Maybe they were added after the pre-orders finished?

Got mine earlier this week, and I have to say I really, really like it. I have done all the workouts(and am happily sore). Wish more workouts came with it. However, I can use this to protect my knees doing TA floorwork. Huge win for me! I can also use this for body rock workouts, zuzuna workouts, bosu workouts, and other med ball/TLT workouts. Also it's great for plank, balance variations!
As a comparison, I did get the wave back in the day and was sorely disappointed. But there's more versatility with this tool.
