Price and size both look good for that. I am wondering if 4" is high enough.

Thinking outside the box (so to speak) how about this "medical" step, if you can do 9" in height: http://www.amazon.com/EVA-Medical-Gr...01EE74WR46Z135 This one is reinforced for up to 500 lbs: http://www.amazon.com/Drive-Medical-...B1X2NPJAY1XR7Q
Medical steps looks really sturdy and the price is right.

Okay this extra-wide one looks good (can you tell I'm having fun? LOL). Rated to 500 lbs, 8" high (I'm thinking better than the other medical stool that's 9"), and the price is good too: http://www.amazon.com/Extra-Wide-Ste...BY9TC9NFHTZD6H

Yeah....that one looks great....there are a bunch of them at wildly different prices that seem to be identical to that. I wonder if there is any difference between this one at the lower price point and some that are like $70 but look the same and have pretty much the same specs?

Stromberg Carlson seems to be a superior manufacturer, hence the better reviews and higher pricetag. But you don't need to spend that much.

Hey I wonder if this would work for you? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Gold-s-Gym...roduct+Reviews
Under Reviews and Q+As someone who weighs 270 states that s/he has no problems with it (although the package states 250) and it's very sturdy. It's adjustable from 4-6" and the packaging seems to state it's 14"x27" which if so is pretty good. Most smaller steps are only 11" in depth.
