Oh NO! Mike was my favorite Monkee, and I really love his solo work and his groundbreaking music videos, as well as his surreal novel The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora. I got to see Mike, Mickey, and Davy on one of their tours in the late '90s, and I later got to see Peter solo (and he signed my CD copy of Justus), so I'm so glad I was able to see all of them while they were still with us.

Very, very sad.

I liked the Monkees better than the Beatles.

Michael was my favorite. Trivia: Did you know that his mom invented White-Out (aka Liquid Paper)?

I'm heartbroken. . . Mike Nesmith was my favorite Monkee -- I loved his wool hat. He was such a talented songwriter as well, and I will never forget that his mother was the inventor of "Liquid Paper," which I used often during the days of the typewriter. (I just noticed that this was also mentioned above by Vintage VFer.)

Ugh, another sad one that's getting to me. I read a ton of Rice's books in the '90s. She made me really love contemporary gothic and fantasy literature.

Actress Bridget Hanley has passed away from Alzheimer’s at the age of 80. She was probably best known for her role of Candy in Here Come the Brides opposite Bobby Sherman. RIP

Wonder if that's a higher number than most years -- anyone know? It's amazing how many of those older men I had crushes on as a kid.
