This does sound good. My library has only one copy and it is currently checked out so I reserved it. Thanks - I love books based on history/true life.

Thanks for the list! It's been an unusual summer, so I'm having trouble believing it's August.

Based on comments/reviews here, I decided to read a book by Adriana Trigiani. When I went looking, I found Lucia, Lucia in my library. I've really enjoyed it and feel like I understand what it's like to live in an American Italian family.

Laura, that is a good recommendation - I'm sure I would be able to relate given that my mom's side is Italian-American. I did pick up her book Very Valentine at a sale (also based on recommendations here!), so I'll read that sometime soon.

I see they’ve made a movie from this book. The main actress’s accent was terrible in the preview I saw. (Also, I hated that book so much, lol...but I hope you enjoy it!)

Oh I liked that book, and I'm excited to see the movie at some point -- though I must say, when I heard they made a movie of it, I had completely forgotten the plot!! I guess the author is in legal trouble at this point?

I'm about 3/4 through "Fellowship Point" which if I remember correctly was billed as a fun summer read. It was a little slow at first but I'm enjoying it!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't enjoy the book. It received such rave reviews but I just couldn't get into it.

I just finished Take Your Breath Away by Linwood Barclay. It's a good murder mystery.

You may see some of your family in the book. I'm not any part Italian, so it was all new to me. I hope you find it enjoyable.

Alison, I'm having a hard time getting into the book so far. If it doesn't get better soon, I might put it down and read something else.
