Formula 55 Feel the Burn (3/5 dumbbells) (~50m)

I did Formula 55 last Thursday and it was tough for me. I decided to do it again and still found it tough -- maybe 5% easier. I'm a bit more familiar with the workout now and have modified some of the more difficult exercises. I'll probably do this workout a few more times in December. I'm curious to see if it gets any easier. The workout recommends up to 10lb dumbbells for Beginners -- there's no way. 5lb dumbbells is already heavy enough for me.

One of the first exercises is 55 pushups. I did the pushups on my knees and could not work up to 55 pushups. I didn't count but I did maybe 60-75% of 55. The one thing I really enjoy is that the workout goes by quickly for me. ;)

jetlitis- I've never heard of Formula 55. Is is a set? If a workout had 55 pushups toward the beginning that would have quite the dread factor for me! I guess it is better toward the beginning of the workout rather than the end when you're wiped out!

Today I did KCM- Circuit Burn- Cardio, Boxing, & Sculpting Premix (44 min.). This was the first Kelly workout I bought and I still love it. She has such unique sculpting moves and her boxing is so much fun!

wendug, Formula 55 is a 48 minute ascending pyramid strength workout. In Formula 55, you begin with 1 rep, then 2 reps, then 3 reps, and so on to 10 reps. (Total = 55 reps per exercise). You keep the same dumbbells throughout the exercise (although you can lower/higher the weight if you need to).

That's how I counted the 55 pushups, but could not finish. You're encouraged to do as many as you can, and stop when you need to. The pushups are done early in the workout (thank goodness!)
