illustrated by Frederic Delavier
If you are serious about weight training this book is a
must have! It has highly detailed color illustrations of
muscles used in common free weight and weight machine
exercises. Kind of like the exercise specific illustrations
in M&F HERS where they highlight the muscles worked.
The drawings are more like art than anatomy. This book
will really help me visualize the muscles used in my
strength training videos.
Many of the illustrations are of female anatomy which is
a nice change from most strength training books. (Of
course, they had to use a female figure for the machine
adductions!) Strength Training Anatomy also
includes drawings of the bones used in the exercises.
There are short descriptions of how to do the exercises. A
few form pointers. And some hints on how to modify
various exercises to work different muscles. But mostly
just the drawings. My only wish would be that the
drawings and text were larger. My eyes ain't what they
used to be!
