Denise Austin dvd with AARP membership

I recently saw an ad on Facebook where you can receive a Denise Austin workout dvd as a "thank you" for joining AARP. This also would apply to current members who would elect to renew their membership on an automatic annual renewal. I'm an AARP member, and they'd been after me to renew, so I went for it. Typically, when you join or renew, you get some kind of a cooler or something along that line.

The advertised dvd is called "Full-Body Fitness" and contains "3 Light Workouts to Support a Healthy Life".

Anyway, I received the dvd, and fully expected the typical "senior" workout, with Denise speaking loudly and slowly so we codgers could follow. I didn't even bother opening it for awhile, because I really hate that approach! But I had a look at it earlier this week and was pleasantly surprised.

The workouts are "Shape Up With Me", a workout of 35 minutes, requiring 3 pound weights, a chair, mat and pillow. "Simple Stretching Yoga" is a 20 minute workout filmed on a lovely beach. "Walk With Me" is 35 minutes of walking with 2 background exercisers who don't appear to be particularly elderly. As far as my preview went, Denise never mentioned AARP or was any different than she is on the other workouts she leads.

They appear to be light workouts, good for active and fit seniors for light days, and I'm going to try one soon.

I thought I'd let you know, since many of us here are AARP members who may have come across this ad on Facebook. It was free, and I do believe I'll actually get some use out of it!

My membership is up in Jan 2019, so I'll have to look into this. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I pay for my mom's AARP, so I'll be sure to let her know. This sounds like something she'd be willing to do. I bet she'd even appreciate Denise's chirpiness

Judy W. -- was this for a multiple year membership? Did you receive a brochure in the mail or was it an online notice?

This was an ad on Facebook. You had to sign up for automatic renewal, so they will automatically deduct your membership each year, rather than sending you a bill.

I once got a set of small packing cubes.

The DVD sounds nice, but I can't find it alone or as part of AARP.
