Hardcore circuit

Hardcore circuit

The instructor is very drill sergeant-ish. Lots of yelling. Lots of "come on people." With clapping and pointing at us at home. Can definitely see myself muting this guy. And he never stops talking. Does some exercises but also walks around yelling at the backgrounders.

4 background exercisers. No modifier.

There is a 3 minute warmup. Jog in place then pu knees up to elbow.

1st set
1 min of skaters
1 min of push-up, pull knee in
1 min of knee up
Repeat 1st set

2nd set
1 min Drop squat
1 min squat thrust( actually a squat with a punch to the side)
1 min Knees to elbow
Repeat

3rd set
1 min jump squat
1 min push-up jack
1 min bicycle
Repeat

Cool down

Things he yells:
Your body is a house
Do you want the best house on the block? Do you?
Stay strong, this is ruthless.
Are you ready?
Think like a cat.
Do you want to be like a machine?
Ruthless, baby!
Come on people.
Come on sexy boy. Come on stay with me

This is SUCH a dangerous place. Bad day at work. Eating lunch late. Saw this thread. Ordered online immediately. Picked it up. Did the first two.

First impressions. I LOVE his South African accent. Yes, you can -- his motto. They are twenty minutes including warm-up and cool down. The warm up in the first two workouts (on the first disc) is two minutes and the cool down is very short (less than a minute).

The first was Hardcore Circuits - sets of three minutes - one lower body, one lower body and one abs. The exercises were fairly familiar. Steve was encouraging and became loud at times, but never over-the-top. I was huffing and puffing after ten minutes.

I put Lunatic Intervals in and ended up doing this one as well. It was 45 seconds on and 15 seconds off. Twenty minutes was the perfect amount of time if you really work through the moves.

This is SO worth the $20.

debbied,

So you liked them? The set was not even on my radar until I read this thread. LOL. I mean if I can do Jillian, can I do him? Are the workouts tough and/or would you redo them in the future?

Thanks so much

I'm not the most discriminating vidiot so YMMV, but if you can do Jillian, you can do these. I've only done the first two, but each is 20 solid minutes. And, lately I've been enjoying body weight workouts and these fit the bill.

I'm not sure I would do a rotation, but I think they will be nice workouts to use when I want to work out in a short amount of time. Since there are 20 different workouts, I'll be able to integrate them nicely without repeating one for a long time.

OMG, this thread is amazing! Someone finds a new product just last night, a bunch of VFers are placing their orders or heading straight to Walmart right now, and there is already some reviews/workout breakdowns...all in one day! The upcoming release threads are fun to read over a period of a few weeks or months (even when I am not interested in the product) but the immediacy of events here must be a first. Was there any mention of this product on VF prior?

P.S.
This Vidiot is whipping out her CC as we speak.

Aw geez, you had me at accent.

Despite a recent vow not to buy any more workouts until I'd at least done the workouts I bought in 2012, my set is currently winging it's way to my local Walmart.

Sigh. At least I'm in good company!

Killer 100s

I haven't done any of them. Just previewing.

Killer 100s
20 minute on screen countdown. Warmup and cool down are part if the 20 min.

100 reps of each exercise.
Squat punch
Burpee come up throw jab cross ( yes, 100 burpees!)
Criss cross pec fly
Squat kick
Push-up- 25 wide arm, 25 arms in closer, 25 diamond push-ups, plank to finish

Cool down.

He's very yell-y. Ends everything he says with "people." Come on, people. Think about it, people. Etc. I think he may be an acquired taste.

Wicked Lower Body

The workouts are 20 min including warm up and cool down.

8 exercises done in 2 rounds
(I won't get the names of all these right)

1. Sumo squat w/alternating knee lift ab crunch
2. Leaning lunge (stationary lunge, lean forward and touch floor)
3. one legged dead lift, touch floor
4. squat w/calf raise (on the low end)
5. Pulsing - 2 squats, scissor, scissor
6. side plank w/leg raise
7. fast shuffle left & right
8. split squat - 4 pulses, jump 180, 4 pulses, jump...

I liked it. I think I'll the the others ones based on the other reviews too.

And he reminds you throughout the entire workout that it's 20 minutes, in case you forget. He also says "Ruthlesss!" a lot.

1 min sumo squat into jump lunge
1 min balance knee raise

1 min side plank with leg lift

I have to admit that these look awesome. And I got them for $20! So worth the money. I think if I mute him I'll use these a lot. I love the variety and I love that they're 20 mins.
