folding bikes

Hi, I'm looking at buying a folding bike to cycle part way to work and for general riding. It is going to be my main bike so I want something that I can comfortably ride longer distances on too. I'm considering a bike friday or a birdy.

Does anyone here have either of these brands and if so, how comfortable are they over distances? How easy is the folding? Any other comments?

Thanks in advance

Here in NYC folks really like the Swift Folder. I do not own one personally, but I hear that the Swift Folders are comfortable, tough, sturdy and come with a nice set of components that tend to last longer vs. the less expensive brands of folding bikes. Being I am a cyclist myself, I can say that you tend to get what you pay for when buying a bike. Think Huffy vs. Trek. Hope this helps.
