Pam, we we used to go camping, it was mostly to campgrounds 45-60 minutes away (although a few times we traveled to PA, VA, & FL). Have fun!!!

Paine, I agree that Unplugged is no dread! I need to get back to Rodney, too.

Good morning! We're having some spring snow here, it's so pretty.

Yesterday I wasn't so active. Audubon asked if I'm interested in adopting another nest and after work I drove around in the rain looking for it. With my map reading dyslexia, the mission was fruitless, but I'm pretty sure of where it is now. Anyway, after that I did the first half of Holden Qigong 04/02/21 and managed 5,000 steps for the day. Lee gave some instructions on how the chi elements interact, and it was another good class for breathing.

Beth, having three Mondays off sounds nice and therapeutic! Do you go alarm clockless on days off?

Paine, I love that Rodney DVD and that practice in particular.

Pam, enjoy that campfire visit with family. That sounds so enjoyable right about now. Do you get osprey on the west coast?

Well have a happy Friday everyone!

Pat, DH & I both enjoyed the osprey cam yesterday! We do go alarm-less most of the time when I have to work, unless I have to get up to teach yoga or something like that. We also sometimes set a "backup" alarm to make sure we don't sleep too late. This coming Monday is a precautionary day off in case I have a reaction to shot #2 on Sunday, the following Monday is my birthday, and the week after that, DH & I are going to the Ithaca book sale.

I changed my avatar to my current Facebook profile pic - it's me a few weeks ago getting ready to livestream a class from the studio.

TGIF and Happy Friday to all!

Today is a rest day so I could do my marketing this morning.

Beth, I went to 3 markets this morning and none of them had SweeTango apples. I asked the produce man and he said they are out of season so you are lucky to get them now.
I like your new avatar!

Pat, I should do Rodney's Soothe and Stretch practice more often because my hamstrings are fairly tight.

Greetings all. Yesterday featured:

~ Winsor Lower Body Pilates, "Trim & Tone Thighs";
~ Home Improvement biceps and triceps
~ Finished Qigong 04/02/21
~ 5,340 steps

It was Friday the 13th for me. I warmed up for a nice lunch walk and drove over to the casino to do that and realized I'd forgotten my mask and didn't have a spare. The weather was so miserable I just went back to the office. A few minor aggravations happened, and DH was in a bad mood when I got home. Then, as I'm cooking dinner after a very nice workout, I get a Messenger from my niece in South Carolina. Her mother - my sister - and I have been estranged for 30 years. A long list of reasons, and I feel bad about it sometimes, but it is what it is. Anyway, my sister is home with my niece on hospice care after being hospitalized for respiratory failure - not sure if COVID or because of her having had cancer previously, or both. My niece didn't say, only that her mother's got six months at best.

So needless to say I have a terrible headache and feel awful over everything. DH has his second shot so back to the other casino it is, but I do not feel like walking around in the crowds. Oye, vei. We have Teledoc at work and I understand that includes mental assistance, so I plan to set up something with a tele-counselor. It's too big.

Thanks for listening, my friends.

This morning I did Essentrics and walked a mile.

Pat, I'm sorry about your sister. I'm sending you lots of love! I hope counseling helps.

Happy Week-end! Woooooo......was covering for someone at work this week and was SO happy for it to end. It would be accurate to say there have been a lot of stealth work-outs tucked in here and there this week. The good news, I have next week off - hooray.

Today was the 100 squat hairdryer work-out. I don't get all gussied up before going to the market, but my horrible hair just couldn't be seen in public, LOL!! I came home from the farmer's market with more plants today. A gorgeous rhododendron and six iris plants. I think I shall be a busy bee next week, to say the least. And I got more strawberries today - they are so sweet.

Pat - I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I need to check in with one my siblings while I'm off next week. We aren't estranged and get along fine, just not close (geographically or otherwise). We also have Teledoc through work. You might want to check your EAP benefits first to see if you might have access to something there at no cost before you pay for Teledoc (unless you have better benefits than I do and get Teladoc at no or minimal charge). I was just watching the osprey cam - one in the next getting things all nice and neat and the other was eating a fish. The owls are back.

Sandra - Which direction does your patio face and what sort of plants have you had good luck growing in pots? This year I'd like to put some pots along the sidewalk in the planting beds for a change and am curious as to what might do well. I had good luck with petunias last year. I'm open to flowers, foliage, edibles, etc.

Pam - Happy and safe travels to you this week-end. Camping sounds like a nice low-key break, and a campfire visit with the family sounds like good medicine.

Beth - I like your new picture. I hope you don't have any problems after your second shot. One of my friends got his second Pfizer shot last Sunday and said it laid him flat for a full 24 hours (he's quite healthy) while his partner only had a sore arm.

Paine - I was bummed to miss Sahra's live class yesterday and by the time I got my act together today, the 24 hours was up. Are you doing your usual bulk cooking this week-end? I really need to make a big batch of coleslaw. Hopefully I can cook this week since I'm off. I may try to dig up some new recipes.

Waves to ALL.

Pat, oh no! So sorry that you had such a challenging day. Whatever has happened with you and your sister, it sounds like it's a challenging situation, especially with her current health issues. I hope you are able to find strength and make peace with whatever is to come.

Paine, I keep expecting the SweeTango apples to be gone! I need to do Rodney's Soothe & Stretch more too.

I decided to go to class at the studio this morning, and it was a very nice start to this otherwise chilly, gray day. Now I am making soup; it's definitely a good day for it!

Hope others are doing well this Saturday.

ETA - oops, cyana, looks like we were cross-posting! From what I have heard (very anecdotally), the Pfizer vaccine seems to be generally better tolerated, even with shot #2. Oddly, I've also heard older people claim less side effects, but that may be because younger people tend to have a more robust immune response. I'm cautiously optimistic that it won't be too bad, but even if I had as bad a time as I had with the 2nd Shingrex shot back in September, the worst of that was only 8 hours or so.

Thanks for the support everyone.

We ended up walking around the casino last night anyway. Other than that, not much. I set up a Teledoc and also a Reiki session with my teacher. AND a Zoom yin/yoga nidra workshop for Friday evening.

Have a great Sunday everyone!
