Question Karen Voight and the Green Things

How much do the "Green Genie Balls" that Karen Voight uses in her workout(s?) weigh? I'd much rather use dumbbells but I don't know the approximate weight she is using - I don't need an excuse to go too light which is probably what I'd do with my guesses. (I was previewing Core Essentials Fusion - with its fantastic music! - and noticed she was using them).

I think they're 3 lbs. each.

Thanks, Martha! I always wonder about those kind of things. I have sooo many gadgets as it is. I couldn't imagine purchasing the Billy Balls, Green Genies, and the ones I've seen Leslie Sansone use. It's nice knowing the substitute weight.

I have 4lb Danskin Weighted Balls

because there are workouts where a weighted ball comes in handy. But the 4lbs are a little larger in diameter and I have trouble wrapping my hand around them. Consequently, I don't use them as hand weights.

I always wanted to buy the green genies but jeesh they are expensive.

Yep, Karen's Green Genies are 3 lb. each.
By the way, I found the exact same thing made by Reebok in silver at Target for at least half the price that Karen's website asks for them. Since I'm still working on building strength and now don't really use Karen's videos that include the Genies, I've been using this to sub for a medicine ball in other videos.

I read this: Karen Voight and the green THIGHS . LOL! I was like, huh? I even read the thread and figured it was a joke. I came back and saw it again and realized what it said. Too funny!

I've seen the weighted balls at Ross and Marshall's for under $10. I got a set of 2-2lb ones (I already have 3lb dumbbells) for $4.99.

I just use one of my ankle weights. They are pretty easy to bunch up and stuff places. I don't need any more "stuff", either!! LOL!

Frozen, i wouldn't recommend the green genie balls - if your palms tend to sweat, forget it. they're WAAAAYY slippery, no traction on them at all. smooth and shiny. there are plenty of alternatives.
