I say get the IP and a crisp lid that works with it. Can't go wrong. People have good things to say about the Mealthy.

I love my IP. In fact, we bought the Ultra version. I gave my smaller one to my college student.

I bet I use my IP almost every day.

I might be the only person who doesn’t like the instant pot. I can cook faster with my oven and to me tastes better. I feel like it was a waste of money for us.

Yeah, the sales are tempting but I feel like I can use my oven, toaster oven, slow cooker and stovetop for everything already so I guess I don't really see the point in buying an IP. I get that it's all-in-one, and that could be very nice for some people but I am afraid that it might just end up taking up space.

Thanks for all of your replies. It looks like many of you love the IP but I am leaning more towards an air fryer. The IP would be nice since it is all-in-one but I already have all the other appliances that basically do the same thing so I guess I don't see the point in spending more money on another appliance that does the same things. An air fryer, on the other hand, would allow us to fry fish and other things in a much healthier way, using less oil, and hopefully be less messy and smelly than using a deep fryer or frying on the stove. I love crispy fish but we really don't fry it as often as I would like because of all the above reasons. I was hoping more people would chime in about air fryers so if you're reading and have any opinions about your air fryer please let me know, good or bad. My husband really liked his uncle's and I think I would like one as well. Getting the whole crispy, crunchy, yet still juicy taste in a short amount of time with little to no oil sounds like a win-win to me!!

I have a three quart IP, and really like it. In my father's final months of life it was a godsend.

One thing I did was make batches of vegetables, one after the other. To do that, you have to take out the gasket and clean the lid, just to be sure the lid seals properly. No need to worry about it, just wash and dry it quickly.

Never did figure out how to make rice in it, so I got a cheapo rice cooker to replace the one that broke. That works for me, because I also like using my little rice cooker to make oatmeal.

Cooking for one now, and I find I use it more for broth and soup, which is still definitely worth it.

I can understand why some people wouldn’t like it. It does take up a lot of counter space (but so does an air fryer) and IMO some things don’t really taste good when pressure-cooked.

I use the slow cooker function a lot, and I use the pressure function for rice, oatmeal, pasta, sauces, beans, and soups. I have tried lots of things that aren’t good, though. It just depends on what sorts of cooking you normally do. For me it was great because it cut down on the number of appliances I was already using, and cut down my time at the stove.

Wow - lots of great testimonials! I've held off on one thus far, but I'm really tempted with the great price. Will I be able to get rid of my slow cooker? I have space limitations....
