That’s in an upcoming episode this season. They showed a preview of the season at the end of the episode. I didn’t really see that big of a difference from the original Biggest Loser show either.

Ugh, that sounds horrible Sherry & I just don’t get it! IMO, the whole point of exercise is to get your endorphins flowing, have some fun, feel good after, & feel like you’ve done something good for your body. How can that encourage anyone to stick with it?

I was curious to watch this new season, but after reading this article in The Atlantic and reading Sherry's review, I think I'll pass.

I ended up fast-forwarding through most of it, so it only took me about 5-10 minutes to watch. Didn't seem very different from the old Biggest Loser.

Same ole, same ole!

Hubby and I watched it and felt it wasn't revamped at all. They still pushed these people who hadn't worked out regularly to their breaking points (still puking in buckets). I don't understand that. A nice revamp would have been to ease them into a lifetime of fitness and health. A nice beginner program, one that was well rounded including all aspects of fitness. Versus one that no one should have to maintain to be fit. Plus all the games of below the line, etc. That is silly to me. Why not keep everyone the ENTIRE time and see who the biggest OVERALL winner was? If your body doesn't respond one week, what with all that torture, then you go home. I'm not sure I'll continue watching or not. Plus the woman trainer who claims she was heavy and lost the weight, she seemed kind of "rough" with her contestants. (could just be my perception)

Great comments Denise, I think that is a great idea to have everyone stay the entire time and show them learning how to incorporate a healthy active lifestyle into their every day life, start slowly exercising, experimenting with different types of workouts to find something they enjoy and will stick with - now That would make a good show, informative and motivating.

It really made me mad watching this, the repeated puke in bucket, running a mile when these people have not worked out in years, the trainer telling one of the women who said she couldn't breathe that it was in her head and to keep going - ugh NO, she needed to slow down and catch her breath.

I was hoping this "revamp" would be more health focused and motivating. I didn't see a difference at all. I may watch the grand finale just to see everyone's progress, but I don't like how they get there, it sends a bad message to the public.

I’d love to know what Bob Harper would think of these comments.

I have a feeling with the money he's probably making, he really doesn't care, or the money is enough to dull any feelings he does have. Which is sad.

I caught the episode that ran this last week while we were on vacation. We were exhilarated after hiking down to the beach, walking in the sand, and just breathing the air. This BL episode, with yelling and puking and misery, fresh on the heels of our beautiful day, just repulsed me. I don't mean to offend the sincere intentions of those who want to improve their health. But this show's method is not a very healthy way to instill lasting good habits and methods to achieve this. Thumbs down. JMO

Thanks for the review Sherry. I won't waste my time. I stopped watching the original because of the dangerously intense workouts forced on very unfit people who need a lead in and not a beat down.
