A mesh router might work for you. That’s what we use. It’s been good for reaching far corners of the house.

What Is a Mesh Wi-Fi Router, and Do You Need One?

We live in a 2600 sq ft ranch with the internet router in the family room on one end of the house.

I got this wifi extender and plugged it into an outlet in our basement laundry room (central basement location) so that our basement guests can get decent (but not great) wifi (it was a real issue before). I think it's maybe different than a mesh router though? It was cheap though, which is what we were looking for.

The workout room is on the main floor, directly on top of one of the basement bedrooms and on the opposite side of the house as the family room router so I actually use the basement network created by wifi extender for roku streaming in the workout room (I use dvds for workouts, not streaming but I do stream other stuff through roku when I'm either on the treadmill or sitting on my butt knitting).

I mean, the wifi extender is not a complete miracle worker (you have to have reasonable expectations of how far it will reach and what the internet speeds will be), but before basement guests had intermittent or super slow wifi in the basement and I had trouble getting my tivo and roku to connect to a network in the workout room. Now, no issues.
