I've had 3 major abdominal surgeries and I couldn't exercise or use any other type of equipment to do such until my abdomen healed. that area is very very sensitive. took me 8 weeks each time. I was on pain meds and had to have PT come and assist me.
so, please take it slow. wait for the doctor to say it's okay, it's better than setting you back for weeks or opening the wound, or it not healing properly from twisting too soon. Just wait it out.

I would say take it easy and be very careful. Two weeks more off would be great. and 8 pounds is not really a light weight for lifting after ab. surgery, I had a couple of ab surgeries and took it slow. My husband didn't! and had a lot of problems and scar problems etc.
good luck, I know how hard it is to not exercise when you are fit and have a routine. I just wish the best for you |
