The beach setting was the reason many of us LOVED the original BBL series! Perfect cure for winter gloomies--that & Leandro's sunny teaching style.

Working out in fresh COOL air would be great. Working out in fresh HOT air, not so much.

That's why I love Margaret's Unplugged series, Good'n'Strong, Spark, Good for You. All shot outside. Makes me want to go to those places. Also makes for some funny moments (cat chases squirrel up a tree, exercise ball rolls into creek, bees attack, caterpillar crawls on her).

Yes, MUCH cheerier than a sterile studio, no matter how it's painted and carpeted.

The Element DVDs are the ones that made me try DVDs. Before those, I wasn't into DVDs. I agree that the outdoor scenery helps with winter workouts when you can't get outside. If it's an indoor workout, of any kind, I like the illusion of window and garden.

I also enjoy outdoor settings. Gilad comes to mind and I also enjoy yoga workouts that are filmed outdoors. Last summer I started doing Ultimate Yogi on my deck in the evenings. It was such a beautiful experience to watch the clouds and hear the breeze through the trees and eventuallly see the sun setting. I realized that I often close my eyes when I do yoga which I never knew I did before. I had to make myself keep my eyes open so I could enjoy the outside experience. I can't believe it took me over 20 years living in this house with a deck to come up with the idea to do yoga outside!

While I was really bummed that Fit TV folded, I am so glad I have a few episodes of Namaste Yoga taped. All those backdrops are gorgeous and makes me want to especially visit Vancouver. In fact, I think the scenic backdrops are like 80% of the reason I was so obsessed with that program, especially considering I am not in yoga otherwise.

I forgot about FitTV. What was that serious with the female lead and two female backgrounders? Those were all outdoors, and frequently on the beach. Those were great.

Carrie-that series was The Caribbean workout. There are a number of those workouts available on dvd.

Barb has put a bunch of them on her you tube channel:

I absolutely love outdoor settings. I mainly exercise in our finished basement, so outdoor scenery is really appreciated.
