Talking Workouts with outdoor scenery are a joy!

Having read that so many of you are struggling this winter I have to say I'm one as well. I've been more or less constantly sick, and have dragged around with very minimal energy and not much interest in exercising.

This is why I keep a stack of 'outdoor' workouts because nothing motivates me more than a gorgeous shot of nature and a sunny blue sky. Classical Stretch, Gilad, Charlene Prickett, Caribbean Workout, Karen Voight (old as well as new), Ellen's Self workouts and now Jessica Smith (yay!) as well as others. In this category I even include workouts that are almost outdoors (ex: older Brooke Burke) or include big windows with an outdoors vista (ex: newer Brooke Burke, Erin O'Brien, and Denise Austin's Burn Fat Fast). They just instantly energize me - it's like a shot of adrenalin! (And I normally don't even *like* Denise Austin.) Matter of fact, they're all I feel like doing throughout most of the winter.
ETA - It doesn't hurt that they seem to all be not-very-intense workouts as well.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I love outdoor settings, too. That's one thing that has me tempted by the new Doonya DVDs.

Hope you feel better soon!

You know, my first reaction was to say, nah I don't care about that stuff, and that's probably because I don't have many. Then I thought about how I feel watching the backgrounds in Miranda's workouts, and it just adds so much to the feel good nature of those episodes.

I can't lie though, some of those feelings are pure longing and jealousy to be on the beach too.

I did Lee Holden's More Energy routine this morning, which is filmed in a Japanese garden. He is on a raft in a koi pond. Sigh. I forgot that it was 23 deg., snow banks are piled up six feet outside and more is on the way. And I feel wonderful now from head to toe, mentally and physically.

I love the outdoor scenery in CS Season 9. I try to catch it on PBS whenever I can. Also love Lee Holden's Gi Gong dvds. The scenery definately helps with the winter blahs!

So many people seem to enjoy outdoor settings that I don't understand why more aren't made. If Leslie made a workout with an outdoor setting, I know it would be extremely popular. I have a few in my collection and I love outdoor settings.

I agree! This winter I have been doing more workouts that are filmed outside. Lately I have been really looking forward to doing debbie rockers walking dvd in Hawaii. The scenery is just gorgeous. Also dusted off the Madeline Lewis walking dvd that's outside.

Sometimes I'm swayed to buy a workout just because it's filmed outdoors. For awhile there, I started accumulating so many yoga workouts, even though I didn't do yoga all that often. Then I noticed the reason why.

I really think outdoors should now be a pre-requisite for workout DVDs. It doesn't seem as much like "working out" if I get to look at the beautiful scenery. The only reason I bought Mel B's workout was because it was filmed outdoors...LOL!

This summer I am seriously considering moving my workouts (even to DVDs) outdoors. One of my check-in buddies does that. I LOVE the idea of working out in the fresh air...

Wow, if you can do that I think it'd be awesome. Fresh air is the optimal way to go!
