People respond to positive reinforcement and encouragement FAR better than negative. Comments like, "good for you---you are trying hard---keep on going," are better than, "you are lazy---you don't want to try---you don't deserve to be here."

I know we've said it before, but this show sends a message to people who are out of shape and who may want to start an exercise program, that you have to kill yourself to get in shape and lose weight. It makes exercising look like sheer torture. If I never exercised before and saw that show and thought that if I exercise, I would faint and throw up, I would never start.
I agree with FitBoop. I have seen only two shows (one from long time ago) and the latest one. I am shocked at Jillian's way of training. She is horrible. It also scared the heck out of me when I saw people puking and being pushed to the max. I couldn't help thinking about Sean O' Malley's motivational coaching and feeling sad.

Ooty-hugs!! I often thought Sean would have made a wonderful trainer on BL.

I totally don't understand why they push people so hard that they become physically sick and injure themselves. How would anyone develop an exercise habit if that is their introduction to it. It makes it all seem like torture and punishment instead of joy of movement.

Didn't they used to show it Monday-Tuesday, back to back? I was looking for it last night.

This week, it was on Sunday and Monday nights. I don't know about future episodes.

Oh I wanted to smack her!! I was waving my arms in my living room, pick me pick me lol. They are so blessed to have that opportunity, she didn't give it enough time

They need fast results during the show's timeframe. They also need to have a loss on the scale most weeks. I think that's the reason they push them so hard. Also, there's an element of punishment involved in the show. I haven't watched that many seasons, but I've never seen all this vomiting on camera before. I also didn't like how many of them were icing their joints etc. I wonder if they X-ray the joints at all.

As far as the woman who quit, they should have drawn another name to give someone else a chance, since it was so early in the season.

It isn't a medical program, but a TV show that depends on ratings. If it was drama-free, nobody would watch. (for instance, the many weight-loss shows on the now defunct Fit TV)

lots of over weight people shoot their cookies also. They don't know it's going to happen, it's such a drastic change in their bodies that it happens. it gets better as they change their diet.

I couldn't get over the falling. It thought they had little attachments to you so the treadmill turns off if you should fall. Each one I've had had a little clip. Maybe they should move the equipment behind them to another spot in case someone falls and they can't get to them fast enough. and they bang their head on the next piece of equipment;(

I know people watch it for the drama, and they need drama for ratings. I just wish they didn't show exercise as torture.
