Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda on giving up high intensity workouts.

I'm several decades younger than her and I've already given up on high intensity/impact. I think Classical Stretch and Leslie will be with me forever ... oh, and strength training with the likes of Erin O'Brien and Jari (her early stuff) and maybe some Ellen too.

WEll alrighty then Jane. Dang that body is looking good for 75. Now that, body does not go with that number. But a lot are making it happen and i"m glad to see it and hear it. That she came to her senses an6 let us realize we don't have to beat the metal for ever. it's alright to change it up and come down a notch. I love reading that. Thank you.

Burr Leonard is looking just as good for her 60s.

I love Jane Fonda. She is the person who got me started exercising 30 years ago, and I will always be grateful.

But I am very disappointed in the way she is now characterizing her earlier workouts as all about being pain.

From my experience that is not true. When I started with her first workout, yes I was sore - because I had never worked out before!

But I started gaining strength - and then when she put out workouts with aerobics, I gained cardio capacity.

It was never about pain- only about fitness.

Maybe time has changed her perspective - because she can't do those workouts anymore she remembers them as "painful" but for me they started a road to fitness that I am still on.

I'd say yes time has changed her wording because then it was a big No Pain, No gain era. Now she sees, it doesn't have to be as painful as she was making it.

oh, .. Alrighty then thank you for the explanation. So when someone does something not so appealing in their life do they have to live with a name for the rest of it?

Um, mind if we talk about the workouts?

Jane was already in her forties when she made her first tape! It wasn't my style, but I was impressed at how flexible she was.
