I've read several of your posts in sympathy after injuring my foot in early June. Terrible timing when your activities are already limited. Mine was from dropping a weight on it and it took a good 10 weeks to get close to being healed. It's so frustrating.
Have you looked into scheduling with a orthopedic doctor who specializes in foot and ankle issues? I've never meet a podiatrist who was very helpful. I've seen three. Two who were partners and gave me conflicting information over another injury awhile back.
With this latest, I scheduled with an orthopedic specialist. It took some time to get an appointment but I did get a phone consultation with his PA who gave me a good indication of what I was dealing with. By the time the appointment rolled around I was mostly healed. Knowing what to expect gave me more patience.
For exercise, I was adding weights to my floor stretching and foam rolling. I also got out the P90X upper body workouts that served me before. There are many moves you can modify from the floor. The resistance bands with handles wrapped around a pull up bar can be used sitting.
Maybe not too helpful but all I heard about getting back to normal was "the more you rest it the faster it will heal". Also that crutches or a boot would help. Don't know if any of this would work for you but I do hope you get some answers.
