You can unlink your YouTube account from Google+ by going to your YouTube account settings (click on your user name in the upper right corner and go to Settings). They will periodically harass you about linking accounts and using your full name on YouTube, however, and it's purposely set up to be confusing. Makes me insane.

I don't know if your DVD player lets you do this, but I have paired my YouTube on my DVD player to my phone. I know Google is expanding the TVs and devices that can do that. I find things on my phone using a YouTube app. I have a few playlists that I have created on the computer. It works a lot better than the native YouTube app my DVD player.
