We spent last wknd with my FIL and then drove across the state for our annual snowshoeing trip, which involved no snowshoes this year. Way more ice than we would ever want though! The trails were pretty ice covered, especially in the state park where we went the first day. The other two days we took trails that were probably less used and we were better able to maneuver around what ice there was. We enjoyed our trip and got home about 7 last night. I picked up Cyric this morning and we're fixing to go walk. He hasn't gotten a walk in a week! He was so excited to come home he was actually shaking and the lady who got him ready at the kennel said as soon as he saw his car harness his whole body just started wiggling. I missed him so much! I need to get groceries but will do that tmrw. I can't bear to leave him after just getting him home. I will do a ton of laundry when we get back from walking and also plan to workout, which he won't love, but at least I'll still be at home!

Ugh, I can't believe how time just disappears! It's been even longer than I thought since I posted last. I find myself composing posts in my head when we walk and then just never actually typing them up. :forehead slap:

It's really been a good month so far. We played D&D on the 10th, I spent several hours over lunch with an old friend on the 11th, spent the whole day at the Mall of America with a different friend this past Saturday. My steps counts got pretty high the end of last week and I think it triggered my RLS as my legs were so bad for a few nights. I decided to take it easier on Sunday and celebrated St. Paddy's Day cooking and enjoying yummy food, reading, and playing games on my phone, just chilling out with hubby and Cyric. Evidently it's what I needed bc my legs have calmed down and I woke up yesterday ready to take on the day!

Apparently now that spring is here on the calendar, winter has decided to show up in reality. We've had snow flurries and cooler temps recently, along with wind. Last week when I ran on Wednesday it was 67 degrees at 2 PM and then Friday it was 50 at 2:30 PM and more windy. It felt cooler than 50. I think today is supposed to be the warmest day this week with a high of 54. I don't mind the cooler temps at all, I just don't like the wind. I've decided 30s-50s is my ideal running temps.

I picked up my weights and did a few upper body exercises on my own last night. That’s it for working out lately though. I have got to get back on track. My knee has been bothering me some lately so besides just being lazy, I’ve been erring on the side of caution.

Last Friday I went and got my hair colored and cut. DH and I went and watched the local little theatre’s production of Neil Simon’s RUMORS last Friday night and Saturday we made a day trip to our favorite vintage antique junk shop. Our church had a Soup Fundraiser Sunday after the service - Seafood Chowder, Salad and dessert - so we stayed for that.

Yesterday DH went back to work and I took the dogs to the vet for their check-ups, paid bills, ran a couple of errands and went grocery shopping. It’s raining today so I’m glad I got that done.

We’re not as cold as you are, but our temperatures are going back and forth - warmer for a couple of days, then cooler for a couple of days. My sinuses are driving me crazy because of this. I don’t mind the cold (when it does get cold here), I actually like the cooler temps as long as it’s not raining. That wet cold is miserable as far as I’m concerned. But give me a sunny 40 degree day and I’m fine. I find it exhilarating.

Really not much to report here. I think I picked up a cold bug at the mall and started feeling sick the following Wednesday. I finally felt better yesterday and didn't take a nap and did 3 walks for the first time in almost a week. I ran errands to pick up stuff I was out of or almost out of and boy did that add up! Plus I had to pick up Cyric's heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Ouch! It's hard to believe I paid double that for so many years with two dogs.

We got snow on Sunday, I think they said about 7", but then it turned to freezing rain and then to just heavy rain, so nearly all the snow is gone. Hubby did shovel once. Hmm..actually, that may have been on Friday, I think we got a couple inches then. The days seriously got all confused for me with both of us sick and him coming home early on Friday. We were supposed to play D&D on Sunday but rescheduled. It's supposed to be mostly highs in the 40s for the next week then they're saying 60s but we'll see.

I had just started a new rotation when I got sick so I'm just going to restart it on Monday. I'd like to run tmrw but we'll see. I'm still coughing some and don't really want to set off a fit. I for sure will jump rope so I don't lose my consecutive week streak! I've spent the last couple mornings trying to catch up on my logs, so I haven't been very active yet.

So excited today is baseball opening day! My Twins don't play till 3:10 so I've got a few things to get done before then. I will have to miss a little to walk Cyric and run an errand with hubby, but hopefully it won't take too long, and at least I can listen while I do those things. GO TWINS!!

I woke up Sunday with a bad headache so I went back to sleep. I had planned on going to church but ended up watching online since I didn't have time to shower beforehand. Saturday I made deviled eggs and chai-spiced pumpkin pie so I didn't have to do it on Sunday, and then it didn't matter much anyway. I usually make ham, au gratin potatoes, rolls and deviled eggs for Easter, but I had to spend so much money last week on restocking stuff that I didn't feel like spending more on a ham so we had meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn and still had rolls and the eggs. The pie is good but it doesn't really taste chai-spiced, so that was disappointing. I am everything chai and pumpkin, all year long!

Saturday I did a short jump rope workout to keep my consecutive-weeks streak going and then stretched on my own. Not much, but it was good and at least smthg after nothing while I was sick.

Looking forward to the movies and supper with my friend tonight. We're going to see Ghostbusters.

Mon 4/1 142 minutes
10 minutes (from Yoga With Kassandra Flexible Body, Flexible Mind 30 Day Morning Yoga Challenge day 23 Reframe, YT) 1st time
10 minutes (from Dr. Bri Pelvic Floor Balance & Impact Challenges At-Home Kegel Camp, Day 23, YT) 1st time

46 minutes (from C. Friedrich STS 2.0 Total Body Super Sets express #4) 1st time
23 minutes (from C. Freidrich STS 2.0 Total Body Stretch)
5 minutes (from PT stretches)
39 minutes (from 3 dog walks 2.44 mi)
Pedometer: 13018 steps, 6.32 mi/Fitbit: 12631 steps, 5.97mi

This was the first time doing premix #4 of Super Sets, which was double supersets. I had only done single supersets before and couldn't understand why people were unhappy with the rest periods. Now I know! In between superset groupings there are 2-minute breaks, but each superset of two exercises are done without a break. When you only do singles, you have 2 minutes between and that seemed like a long time. But when you do two or three sets of groupings without a break, well, that really upped the ante!

I woke up sore already this morning so I did Yoga by Gillian -10 min Morning Yin Yoga - The ULTIMATE way to start your day, which showed up in my feed. It was just lying spinal twist to each side and then reclined butterfly, but it was nice.

I really need to get my butt in gear to get in workouts and shower before I have to leave for my friend's house! It's gonna be tight.

We got up and went to the Sunrise Service and breakfast at church. I was going to come back for the Worship Service but I fell back asleep after I fed the dogs so I watched it online later that night. We had a rotisserie grilled leg of lamb with chimichurri sauce, bacon-wrapped asparagus bundles and French Onion Mac & Cheese with Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. I made a Cream Cheese Pound Cake to use as the base for the dessert.

We’re going to go see Ghostbusters tomorrow.

Sissy, what did you think of Ghostbusters? We liked it.

Yesterday I only had time to jump rope and run a couple miles on the treadmill (bc it was kind of wet and icky outside). Jumped off the treadmill into the shower and almost straight from the shower to the car to get to my friend's on time! Today I intended to workout before the 12:10 first pitch, but I couldn't sleep last night and was up till 2:30 this morning so I slept in till almost 9:30 and just didn't get it done. Then I sat down with my crochet when the game started and accomplished nothing else the rest of the day! I made a little squirrel for my hubby.

Vantreesta - We liked Ghostbusters. I loved the originals, so I like that the newer movies pay tribute to those and include members of the original cast, and I appreciate that while there is humor, they are more serious than the originals.

Today is a severe weather day here. It’s darker this morning than it was during the eclipse. It was cloudy and overcast Monday with scattered showers so honestly if I hadn’t known there was supposed to be an eclipse, I wouldn’t have known there was an eclipse.
