I have an electric kettle my hubby got me for christmas one year. I use it on weekends and when I am working from home.

I like it as it has different temps for different teas and fresh press coffee (which my hubby does on weekends). It stays on for four hours before shutting off so I don't have to continually turn it on.

If I know I am done then I turn it off myself.

I like it. It sits next to the auto coffee maker that my hubby uses during the week.

I finally came into this thread to see why so MUCH discussion of electric kettles, lol 😆

I enjoy the cross-cultural discussions! I had a hot pot/kettle in college, but I don’t now. I use a drip coffee maker (never heard the word “dripolator”), have a French press Fr hat I mostly use when camping. For everything else I boil water on the stove, or occasionally in the microwave.

It does sound like a useful thing but my kitchen is tiny 😜

My former boss is from Australia. She brought back Vegemite for us to try once. I tried it, you can keep it!

But you probably didn't try it PROPERLY.

Fresh squishy bread, crunchy crust, a little more butter than you'd usually use, and just the merest HINT of vegemite.

Also wonderful on toast with a poached egg on top - but ALWAYS just a very LIGHT touch of vegemite. NEVER eat it right out of the jar - it isn't peanut butter!

The guide is to treat it a bit like wasabi - similar amount.

Well, she brought it to us as sandwiches so I'm assuming she did it right, but I don't know for sure.
