I guess we are not supposed to discuss the specifics of an instructor's body here, but IMO she's not my ideal either. She IS teeny tiny, and I guess that's what is most important to most women and they don't notice the subtleties of women's muscular definition (or lack of), or fat/muscle ratio quite the way VF'ers do. When I showed my MIL TA's Mat workout, the first thing she said was "Look at her arms!" in an admiring way. When months later I showed her Leah Sarago she said almost the exact same thing. I think a lot of women just want to be small in the sense of fitting into a size 0/2/4 (whatever their goal is), and don't think much about body composition. My MIL diets every year for the beach and I have noticed over the years that she gets flabbier and flabbier (visible fat on arms and thighs) regardless of her size. But if she notices a 10 lb. drop on the scale and can fit into an 8 instead of a 10, she thinks she's done great.

BTW, Leah Sarago IS my ideal, and it is not unreasonable for me to look like her one day...we have the same body type basically.

ETA: I am not saying Tracy is weak or anything. She obviously has tons of cardiovascular stamina and muscular endurance! But she doesn't have the kind of body where if you met her IRL you would immediately think she works out a lot. She just looks skinny to me.

I think the "major changes" some of you seem to be looking for are more related to fat loss and diet.
No. For me it's more about strength and fitness and health so less about fat loss and diet. I'm just vain enough to want visible results too! Lol again!

I'm not and will never be a TA user, but an add'l turnoff for me with her Meta set is her insistence that you should never reuse her workouts. Instead you're supposed to do the 90 days and go on to Continuity. She has you constantly buying new workouts while, in essence, tossing out the ones you've just used. To me, workouts should be good for longer than 10 days - what a huge expensive waste!

Oh I wanted to add that she looks great and the women on the before/after look great but I am looking for a different look on me. (I like more of an athletic look)

Sadly, this describes me as a young woman. I wish I could go back and change that about myself. I still catch myself wanting to be so thin to wear a size 2 (I have a small frame) or reach a number on the scale, but that does not make you look good naked! I'm just saying....and I notice thin has more of an aging effect on my appearance now.
I keep telling myself that I would rather look healthy than thin, but it's hard; especially when I stand next to my sister who is thin as a rail from low calorie diet & no weight lifting.

I am on level 6 of TA, my results so far.....

I had the same observation, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Courtney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Nichole Richie, Shakira, Jeniffer Lopez, and Madonna were not over weight to begin with. I was open minded and I purchased Abcentric, I am now on level 6, I am not overweight either, I am P90X and P90X plus graduate, STS, Insanity, I did 3 rotations of RKS, I am very strong, I can do pull ups, snatch a 35# bell, do swings with a 45# bell also, my weak area was the abs due to having children. I thought that to test the program I had to give it enough time to see if it works.

While I cannot say I love doing the exercises, to be fair, I did not enjoyed P90X either, there are things I do because I know that they will be good for me.

I have notice more definition in my abs, which is what I wanted out of the program. I have lost some muscle since I am not lifting heavy, but I am OK with it, since I thought I was getting too built, I do one or two weight workouts a week to maintain my muscle mass, I am not doing TA only, I don't lke her dance workouts, I prefer to do Cathe Supersets, Kickboxing or other Latin dance workouts or walking. If you stop lifting heavy is only normal to lose strenght, and muscle mass, that is the way it is, use it or lose it!

I own just about every program out there, and they all work, depending on your goals, I wanted to slim down and tone my abs, so far I am achieving that.

Why it works, the Formula: High Rep, 20-30-40 on some exercises, focus on the problem area, the abs, butts, hips or all body, consistency, work out 6 times a week. Do at least 30 minutes of cardio 6/week, and the MS 30 minutes 6/week.
change the program every 10 workouts. And finally eat super clean.

Final thoughts: I think that if you follow her formula with any programs it has to work. I also want to add, that even though I have been training for over 20 yrs., I never ever did abs for 30 minutes, 6 times a week. I think that if you focused on your problem area in the same manner it has to work.

I second buff girl. Rozy - there is nothing wrong with using TA & supplementing it with heavy lifting or kettlebells if that's the look you aspire after.

Personally I am getting fantastic lower body/ab results - which is what I am hoping for. I am still lifting my kettlebells & doing a clx here & there. For me I am getting the best of both worlds. Again, my bf can't stop commenting & saying I look better than ever - and the only change is adding in TA. My pants are fitting good again & I couldn't be happier.

If anything too, TA's arm work is leaning my arms - making the muscles I have from kettlebells more prominent.

I still use my Mat workout from time to time...the standing legs and unweighted arms segments. Last summer when I was doing Ballet Body and yoga style mat work, with some 2 lb. weight work (not TA's), and TA Mat unweighted arms thrown in at the end most days of the week, my upper body and arms were looking good.

But I now have Essentrics and a season of Classical Stretch, and I'm thinking that the arm work in these is similar to TA.

I started supplementing my strength workouts with this style of workout 13 weeks ago. For me, it's not about aesthetics, but about correcting muscle imbalances.

Since TA, BB, and other methods like this are based on isometric training, they actually complement strength training.

Daisyduke, based on your heavy strength no cardio thread, you have achieved really awesome results. Are you now looking for a workout that will help you maintain your current physique?
