Hi everyone

Lately I feel like im in an exercising rut been doing
lots of yoga and pilates. I feel like I need to tone up more especially my abs so i am thinking of starting strength training again. I notice lot of you use the firm and cathie tapes I am thinking about using the firm basices tapes. Any suggestions would be appreciated......

Carrie,

The Firm Basics strength training tape is a great place to start. She gives you lots of form pointers. And, while it's basic, it is a good enough tape to keep you involved for awhile. At least, it was for me.

Hi Carrie,

Yes, the Firm Basics workout with Tracie Long is a good place to start. Tracie is/was one of the best Firm instructors. Also yoga and pilates are really good for you too. So you've been doing well by doing just those two.

Firm Basics have good reviews. Also, what about something like Kathy Smith lift weights to lose weight? Two 20-min segments, one upper, one lower. Quicker reps, and she's a little hyper in this one. But it's an old standby nonetheless. I can't exactly part with it b/c it was my first strength training video even though I seldom use it now. But it might fit the bill for you right now, and I bet you can grab it for cheap off ebay/swaps.

Carrie,
Another good one is Firm Maximum Body Shaping, using light weights to start. It's a slow, total body weight workout, and Tracie Long leads the video. It's not boring, and you can increase the weights as you progress. You may be able to find it cheap, on ebay or the swap.

I second Maximum Body Sculpting . I think it's a lot more fun than the Basics tapes.

I'll third MBS, and add that I like doing a mini Firm rotation when I feel like I'm in a rut.
