Dessert-at-recess-with-an-old-friend workouts

Last week I revisited the first workout I ever got, about 30 years ago! It was Cher's Hot Dance. I did this workout so many times through HS and college and still do it occasionally, still loveit. I still have all the instruction and banter memorized, even if my moves are rusty! So many memories went through my head while I danced away, including the friend who bought me the workout who passed away a few years ago as well as the back room in the house I grew up in where I always worked out.

It felt so comfortable and sweet doing this workout again, with all the wonderful memories, that it made it feel like eating dessert at recess while sharing laughs with an old friend. What workout makes you feel that way?

I feel this way when doing my Charlene Prickett workouts. I did them a lot and knew the banter between the crew. Especially Lonnie, who always said goofy, corny things. He always made me laugh out loud even though I knew what he was going to say before he said it. These workouts definitely bring back the warm fuzzy memories of a long ago time when things were easier, blissful, and generally more happy in my life. I miss those times!

I don't do the Charlene Prickett workouts a lot, but I love having them for when I'm feeling nostalgic.

Kim, I'm feeling a lot of nostalgia lately and wanting to revisit the oldies. My brain gets weird as the weather warms to spring but this strong nostalgia is a new one for me! Usually I get depressed and more anxious around March but I'll happily take doing old workouts over those feelings any day! I have never done or even seen a Charlene Prickett video. The horror, right??

I agree so much with this statement! In addition to just about any Charlene Prickett workout, I feel the same about Christi Taylor's Step Heaven and Kari Anderson's Body Tech. I am always so happy doing any of these workouts.

I still have this on VHS. I liked the Cher step workout led by Kelly Roberts better than this one though.

I think I have backups of both of Cher's VHS. If I see them I buy them!
