Glad you liked that practice, Pam! I haven't filmed anything new since before the holidays, but I'm buying myself a box light (for better lighting) and am open to requests if anyone has any!

Today I think I'm going to do some short yoga (probably Yoga with Tim) as a warm-up and then maybe try some kettlebells. I feel bad for people going back to work today; I'm lucky to have a few more days off.

Day 14, Jan 3
Morning: MFML: 2021 Grounding & Strength series #3 / The Fundamentals of Standing Poses, Rachel Scott
This class was sooo good!! Great tips for pelvic alignment and how it affects the opening of the hips. Rachel is very cheerful & bright. A really nice class.

Evening: Continuing going through old DVDs ... Molly Fox: Stretches & Relaxes
How did people ever learn from DVDs??? This was fairly advanced, and Molly is super-flexible so most of the poses as she did them were not attainable at all. And it started immediately with 6 really fast rounds of full sun salutations. There was no instruction nor hints for modification. No wonder I stopped doing yoga years ago when all I had were DVDs.

If anyone is interested, this practice is available for free on Gaia for the next few days (68 hours from now):

I did about half today. It was nice enough, but I thought it was going to be more side body work, and the section I did was mostly hamstrings. Also, I didn't like how she spends so much time on one side of the body before moving on to the other.

Day 15:
~Hatha Flow Yoga class on zoom
~Insight Timer: Rest Well Tonight With Koshi Chimes

FirmDancer - Yes, there are a lot of yoga dvds, especially older ones, that offer zero modification options. It turns people off, most of us don’t have pretzel bodies. And I’m not a fan of fast sun salutations, I think it’s a good way to injure yourself.

Day 15, Jan 4
Morning: MFML 2021 Grounding & Strength series #4 / Do Your Best, Guy Friswell
This was a short, flow-type class, very do-able. So good!

Evening: I continued with going through my old DVDs
  • Body Wisdom, Barbara Benaugh. I chose the 55 min long practice for Anxiety. It was mainly various breathing exercises, but only a few poses. Lovely shoulder stretch.
  • I wanted more poses, so pulled out Yoga for Surfers, Vol 1, post-surf session. I like this because the poses flow so nicely from one to another. I remember doing this so often I had it memorized.

That is definitely one of my criteria for an enjoyable yoga class. If a class starts with full-on sun salutations, I turn it off.
