We're pretty much 40 until 50 Saturday/Sunday. I don't want to jinx it, but this has been a mild winter. Yes, it snowed a lot last year Mar-Apr, so we're not out of the woods, but I am hopeful. Of course, this winter I didn't run, so there's no way I can even do the Eau Claire Half. I guess I am up for volunteering.

Gin's 100 rep workout is mostly large muscle and thus keeps the heart rate up. She works in sets of 25 and unilateral exercises are done 50 reps per side. The exercises are varied each set by changing weights (heavy, med, light), body position or the actual exercise in the case of shoulders. No warm up or cool down, no dedicated core work. I would do this again. Looking forward to trying her lower body workout.

I should do Lauren's SLDL challenge too. That's the hardest of my PT exercises and I kept skipping it. I feel like it's actually easier to do with weights, which I didn't have at my parents. I need to get back to doing my exercises!

I'm doing SL DL in NROLW - will hold off on inc weights or reps until my foot feels better. I see the squat challenge where Lauren says it's different this year- Sandy, can you tell us what changed?

I don't remember doing a Lauren Squat Challenge before. I just checked my logs, and I've done lots of yoga, pilates, glute, and ab challenges but never a Lauren B squat. My first Lauren B challenge was my STUPID swing challenge Nov 2019 where I did days 1-7 in one day, meaning I did 700 swings in one day after not doing any for months...

The squat challenge was 3 weeks or 21 days. The weeks each progressed from 20-50 reps increasing by 5 per day. She broke the sets up by groups of 5, 10, or 15. In between she did mobility moves. Each week you were to increase the weight.

The SLD challenge is similar to the squat challenge in that each week you use the same weight and then increase the following week, and she breaks up the sets with mobility moves, but she also has 2 rest days built in which wasn't the case in the squat challenge. She goes from 10 to 25 reps per side plus a ladder day.

For both challenges I started with body weight for week one. For the squat challenge week two I did 15 lbs, and week three I did 20 lbs. I stayed conservative because my butt/hammy was of course hurting.

We'll see what I do for weeks 2-4 of the SLD. I may stay conservative and use a single 5, 8, and 10 lb dumbbells as my progression.

Maybe Vannie did a Lauren Squat Challenge before?

Yep, I did a Lauren squat challenge last year. Right now I don't remember the breakdown but it was 21 days with weight progression as well.
