Punch up your Walk - how heavy are your weights?
I've just started using Leslie's Punch up your Walk, but had the DVD delivered without the 1lb weighted gloves because of the exorbitant shipping costs to the UK.
I've started out with 2 lb hand weights, but my shoulders were totally fried for days afterwards! I used to use 3lb-5lb weights when I did separate upper body weight training workouts! I don't really want to drop down to 1lb weights as I don't feel my upper body will get much of a workout. Anyone else using weights heavier than 1lb? |
I generally use two-pound weights for walking cardio, but I have found that the two-pound weights are a little heavy for continuous punching. I'm thinking of getting some one pounders for just that purpose. I'd rather "get nothing" (which really wouldn't be true) than be "totally fried" (which really would be true!) :)

Try cans of cream soup. They are easy to hold and weigh in at a little under a pound. It'll get you past the hump till you get "real" one pound weights.

Cans are a good idea, though ... I'm sure I have some cans of tomatoes or broth or something ... :p |
I usually use weighted gloves that are 1 lb each for this workout and kickboxing workouts. On a side note, Leslie's pink gloves are only about 12 ounces each - so you probably were wise to not pay the extra shipping for them. Also, the same pink gloves come in the new Knockout Body kit from 10 Minute Solution. I have some Valeo weighted gloves that work well for me.
Okay, that probably didn't help answer your question, but though it might be good to know. ;) |

I use the 1 lb weighted gloves and then I also carry 1 lb (sometimes 2 lb) weights so I can easily drop my free weights if my arms are getting burned then I can pick them up again when they've recovered.

Thanks for you answers everyone. Think I'd better drop down to the 1lb weights for some of the workout! Just loving this routine BTW, definitely one of Lezza's stronger workouts IMO!
