Has anyone ever gotten hip sprain from cardio kickboxing?
Or any other type of cardio? After you healed, how did this impact your workouts?

i donīt really know what you mean by hip sprain but my back problems started after doing kickboxing for a while. I started to get piriformis spasms. The problem has never gone. It retreats so long as I practice yoga and pilates regularly and avoid anything remotely high impact.
The piriformis is a little muscle a few inches down from teh waist, kind of in the middle of the butt cheek. If that helps. Good luck! |
I had bursitis in my left hip for a while and couldn't do kickboxing during that time cause it would hurt my hip too much. I just did other cardio instead and was fine.

I have hip tendinitis and am almost positive I got it from Turbo Fire. I thought it was from the high jumping, but even if I don't do the jumping, it hurts worse afterward, but not after a dance workout which is strange. It sucks because Turbo Fire is my favorite workout and I can't even do it and I've gained a few lbs because my body's use to high impact and I cannot do it. I will be doing yoga for the next week only and hope I can control my eating.

I don't really have a hip problem, but if I do too much too soon of any strenuous exercise, especially running, I will feel it in my left hip for about a month or even two. So if I have taken an extended break from fitness, I will take a few weeks to build back up to where I was, even if I could tolerate the workout otherwise.
