This was a short (about 35 minute) Tae Bo workout that I expect was an add-on in the deluxe package for the Capture the Power series in 2004, though I think I got it retail much later. Several of the backgrounders are holding the “Tae Bo Tools” aka ˝ lb squishy balls, but they don’t really have much use here. The workout starts out with a lot of side to side stepping by way of warmup and then goes into the traditional stretching that Billy usually does at the beginning of each workout (I swear I read somewhere that stretching at the beginning of a workout is not good), then it starts to flash on the screen whichever circuit you are doing, abdominals, upper, lower or total body. The abdominal circuits have a lot of twisting, and cross punches while in horse stance, eventually in the second circuit he adds the standing side crunches, bent knee and straight leg. The upper body circuit is pretty much all punches, sometimes while stepping forward, and sometimes just in place. The lower body circuit is all about kicks and the total body circuit is a combo of kicks and punches in a pattern. He starts everything off slow and then goes to a cardio pace, sometimes that works, and sometimes the move in question feels unsafe or impossible at the pace he suggests. The pace that works for punches will not always work for kicks, at least IMHO.

Instructor Comments:
Billy seems to be way off his count on this one, there is one move (I can’t remember which) that seems to be done forever on one side and only for two counts of eight on the other. Sometimes when he’s talking to the camera, the backgrounders keep going with the same move when maybe they should have been told to “walk it off.”
