I won these workouts at a Weight Watchers training event. I don’t know if that means I have to say I have a relationship with a fitness program or not. I don’t typically talk about Weight Watchers anywhere but my meetings. That being said, I’m not a fan of most Weight Watchers workout DVDs, even Ellen’s walking one and I love Ellen and Walking.
I felt as though I had made it through the five discs in this set at some point, but have zero recollection of this workout. Since I just did it this morning I’m writing this while it’s fresh in my mind. It’s not too terribly memorable. Jennifer Cohen is the instructor on this and it clocks in at about 35 minutes. There is an express option as well, but it’s the same workout only stopping about 15 minutes in. This starts out super slow. I realize it’s a warmup, but it was so slow I had to keep my sweatshirt on over my longsleeved thermal to stay warm (it’s winter in the Adirondacks, so that means cold). Once the “warmup” is over, she starts the workout which again seems very slow, even beginnerish. With each move she starts at what she calls a level one, the modifier continues with this level the entire time, then she progresses to a level two, and finally a level three which she and the other backgrounder follow. No one stays at level two. Tap backs, a skater move, then suddenly she starts with level three moves that have impact, lots of impact. Jumping jacks, plyo jacks, ski-hops, to my least favorite burpees. With about 4 minutes left, she gets you down on the ground for abs, basically crunches, regular, one leg in the air, the other leg in the air, more regular. Then a stretch, a short one at that.

Instructor Comments:
As far as Jennifer goes, I’m not a fan, she doesn’t give off a fun vibe, and she seems so serious and dour. I don’t mind a fun vibe, and I don’t mind a drill instructor either, but jeez, this sucked any fun out of what might have been a passable workout. Also a couple of times she said she couldn’t do the level three move and keep talking, this made me think I wish you were doing the level three move so you would shut up. This when I generally don’t get bothered by that. As in Leslie doesn’t bug me. Maybe it’s because I just didn’t click with her.
